Darkest Hour guitarist shares his latest royalty check

Isis and Palms member Aaron Harris also recently shared his royalty check. Directly after doing so, I asked Harris for specifics, and he told me, "It's really hard to tell. I never see specifics. Company called Music Reports. I usually laugh, tear it up, and throw it away."
Now the good news for Schleibaum is that he is now on the Sumerian Records roster. Because a few years ago when Trivium frontman Matt Heafy shared his $1.31 royalty check, Sumerian founder Ash Avildsen commented to two members of Asking Alexandria: "You should tweet your six figure royalty check to show Trivium how the Sphinx does it. Music is still alive."
Hopefully Schleibaum will continue to publicize his royalty check amounts so that we can play along.

Post CommentWhat's hysterical about this is the fact that Mike walks around DC acting like he is the shit. Douche bag.
I can relate to this. Ive only recieved one royalty check and it was 7 bucks. Didnt cash it, just stapled it to the wall.
Mike has always kind of come across as a d-nag, even when he played DAV in Glen Burnie in like 1998. He is pretty chill when you get to know him.
I totally agree with the gay who commented above me.
If only there was a computer program that could round off all the fractions of a cent and put it into a separate account...
the check itself probably costs more than the royalty. nice.
Well, that's cause Mike is the shit and apparently you're a jealous sounding biggot. Way to win at winning ding dong.
Dude, being in a small band I can attest to this - digital royalties are less than a percentage of a cent per play... if I remember correctly it's 0.00045 per. Do the math folks, that's like $450 for a million plays. Obviously there's some kind of sliding scale, and the 1% of A+ acts get more money. Also, I know Mike. Solid dude.
Webmaster exposed as BigAndInAuthority. Period. IMHO.
talk about a reality check...things just ain't what they used to be.
Where have I heard this before? Oh that's right every fcking band that ever got signed. Same old song and dance. Don't like it? Do something about it.
The real money is in doing A&R for dubstep. Sad but truuueeee
No one listens to Darkest Hour, at least not in the last few years. When no one is buying their music, no one in the band gets any money. Make sense?
They should use kickstarter for their next album
