How much does it REALLY cost to book your favorite band for a show?

How Much To Book

UPDATED: How Much It Costs to Book Your Favorite Bands in 2024

Several weeks ago you might recall seeing a widely circulated list showing booking fees for a host of notable musicians. Unfortunately, those who published the list were quick to point out that the accuracy of its information was highly questionable. As such, we spent a little time collecting artist fees via CelebrityTalent.net, which they claim gets its fee listings directly from band management and is therefore fairly accurate. Their list is annoying browse though, so we put together our own list, weeding out the non-musicians and adding a few artists they had excluded, and posted it for you below. Among the talent you will find is Bad Religion, Black Sabbath, Bring Me The Horizon, Faith No More, Judas Priest, Korn, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metal Church, Primus, Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against The Machine, Rob Zombie, Slayer, Soundgarden, Suicidal Tendencies, Tomahawk, Tool, and Volbeat

Remember, these amounts are not what a band gets for playing a show amidst a tour, but rather what they might ask for to fly into some random city for a one-off performance. And though these may be more accurate than the first list, there are still some problems here (Pink Floyd isn't playing, period. And Dave Grohl can't cost double the Foo Fighters). Whatever. Worth a look regardless.

Amen: $15, or a case of beer in lieu of payment

anonymous 6/13/2014 7:32:42 AM

The one no one talks about is The Postal Service, I'd be ready to gather the money to have them play for a party!

anonymous 6/13/2014 7:49:33 AM

This list is so painfully inaccurate. I have worked for a few of these bands and these guarantees are way off.

anonymous 6/13/2014 9:33:31 AM

If I could actually get White Zombie for $25,000 they would be in my backyard right now. This list is fcked.

h0tdack 6/13/2014 9:36:03 AM

yeah, this list does seem off. who the fck is paying 311 $250K to perform

untappedmarket 6/13/2014 9:39:48 AM

I don't see Infant Sorrow anywhere on this list =/

anonymous 6/13/2014 9:41:25 AM

Agreed. These fees are all inflated at least 50%

OrgCore 6/13/2014 9:58:14 AM

Good for Toto.

anonymous 6/13/2014 10:51:19 AM

Black Sabbath for 100k? is the person who wrote this on drugs?

anonymous 6/13/2014 10:59:22 AM

SABBATH FOR 100,OO0 WAY OFF!! ADD ANOTHER 0

siqbrah 6/13/2014 11:26:41 AM

"bring me to the horizon" lol

anonymous 6/13/2014 11:34:44 AM

yeah ive booked alien ant farm for under 5k. and I can get limp bizket for under 25k. stfu

anonymous 6/13/2014 11:53:33 AM

You can book Fall Of The Albatross for $60 and some string cheese. And who is booking Mastodon for 95,000? They're amazing and all, but Damn.

anonymous 6/13/2014 11:59:14 AM

*gets 35k to pay lost prophets to play a nursery*

anonymous 6/13/2014 12:34:50 PM

500k for FNM? How!?

genghisjohn 6/13/2014 1:52:34 PM

anonymous   posted 1 hour ago *gets 35k to pay lost prophets to play a nursery* fcking LOL

anonymous 6/13/2014 4:54:27 PM

Who on earth would pay ANY amount of money to see All Time Low?

anonymous 6/13/2014 6:13:46 PM

this cant be real. 1.3 mil for aerosmith? a mil for green day? cmon now.

anonymous 6/13/2014 6:22:11 PM

yeah this might be what they ask for. this is nowhere close to what they actually ever get.

anonymous 6/13/2014 6:55:30 PM

How about Lamb of God?

ig88 6/13/2014 8:21:51 PM

Lamb of God costs one human sacrifice Fugazi is still only $5

anonymous 6/14/2014 7:09:44 AM

TRAILER PARK BOYS! 125K fck it lemme get a loan!

anonymous 6/14/2014 3:02:11 PM

Bring Me To The Horizon | $15,000+ lol Great band name.

anonymous 6/14/2014 7:37:19 PM

"If I could actually get White Zombie for $25,000 they would be in my backyard right now." THIS

anonymous 6/15/2014 6:58:11 PM

Yeah, none of these are real. Except for Creed. They're desperate for attention.

anonymous 6/16/2014 12:43:12 AM

Slayer 30k?!?! (it's funny that Steel Panther are just down the list and demand the same amount)

anonymous 10/15/2014 5:24:14 PM

how much is marky mark and the funky bunch?

anonymous 12/16/2014 1:18:30 PM

Could I get price one the band HIM.

anonymous 12/30/2014 12:43:23 PM

Whoever wrote this is on drugs most of this is laughable

anonymous 1/17/2015 6:35:12 AM

So, $100,000 for Black Sabbath but $200,000 just for Ozzy.. Seems unreliable numbers here. Why the fck even post this trash!

anonymous 2/4/2015 9:47:44 AM

Rise Against - Great Band Would Definitely Pay for that... if i had the money...

anonymous 2/15/2015 7:12:06 PM

very cool list with some surprises thrown in. nice tto know who I can't afford, lol

anonymous 3/31/2015 11:59:09 PM

Dave Grohl costs double the Foo Fighters because Grohl doesn't want to gig without the band. Big, big headache. But if you REALLY want just Dave...

anonymous 6/7/2015 1:25:58 PM

how much for 30 seconds to mars?

anonymous 7/17/2015 3:48:05 PM

Blue Oyster cult is a great band and less then 20K. I would go anywhere within 100 mile radius to see them, Only complaint is they don't play long enough...

anonymous 7/18/2015 7:08:42 PM

I'm sure this is based on the most, or least just look at Megadeth, they were ever paid for a single performance at a specialty event.

anonymous 7/24/2015 11:27:51 PM

I saw Steel Panther (this list says $30,000) play for 200 people at $25 a ticket, that a $5000 door. Are you telling me that the venue booked them knowing they were gonna take a $25,000 loss... umm yah... fees are negotiable.

anonymous 7/31/2015 1:37:25 PM

Wow it only cost 250,000 to bring BB King back from the dead for a gig!

anonymous 8/15/2015 4:15:54 PM

i booked zz top in sacramento to play a club show for 18g. 350 plus??? who wrote this list

anonymous 9/11/2015 8:10:29 PM

I'd love to get Jerry Lee to open a show for Ringo or the other way around. Chip

anonymous 9/25/2015 1:35:48 PM

I'm going to have to call BS on the whole list. BB King recently passed away, but 5 years ago I heard it from his own mouth quote "for $15,000.00 we will show up and play any where you want." Un-quote. A far cry from the price listed on here.

anonymous 9/27/2015 6:10:05 AM

just wondering how much it would cost for the beatles if they were still touring

anonymous 10/3/2015 8:39:45 AM

So you can have both members of the Eurythmics for $150,000 but it will cost you $850,000 for Annie Lennox on her own! I'm calling shenanigans on this list.

anonymous 11/18/2015 7:27:57 AM

I can get Van Halen for 300k but it costs 1 million for Van Morrison... I don't think so.

anonymous 3/7/2016 6:13:58 PM

this is way off!!! these prices are sooooooo wrong

anonymous 4/9/2016 4:56:37 PM

Do you need a loan ?? if yes E-mail address: quickcashinvestment2933@gm ail.com

anonymous 4/14/2016 4:55:35 PM

I've been promoting shows for 9 years - this list has some very accurate prices, and some that are not even close. For the guy below that said he booked ZZ Top for 18K - ummm, no you didn't. They MIGHT play a show for 150, but it's going to be closer to 225-250.

anonymous 4/27/2016 2:40:02 AM

Where's METALLICA?

anonymous 5/7/2016 1:09:55 AM

Please let me book Eddie Money, Hall & Oates, Lionel Richie, Foreigner, Men at Work, Steely Dan, The Cars, and Yes for some kinda '80s show in Texas! (Dreaming at this point...I hope everyone is still around...forgive me if any have passed on...) Add Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Pat Benatar, Van Halen, and ZZ Top for a total of $2 Million and now we're talking! ... I'd only be able to finance a small portion of THAT production... - Grady in Houston

anonymous 5/7/2016 1:24:11 AM

...whoa... Can't believe I forgot about the Pointer Sisters and Tina Turner! Gotta invite them as well... Anyone else down for a huge '80s fest in Texas? ...and NO crappy Woodlands Pavillion-type venues!!! Those places completely destroy the point of a good show in the first place! Cozy venue or bust! - Grady in Houston

anonymous 5/7/2016 1:40:28 AM

...Kim Carnes... Joe Walsh... Stevie Ray Vaughn... Hey, if we're talking about building an '80s festival... we can go on and on... Funny thing is... I actually have the money for Eddie Money - but that's about it. Big dreams... Sorry, I'll stop now. But I would be willing to bring Eddie... - Grady in Houston

anonymous 5/7/2016 2:18:47 AM

I know I said I would stop now but... Whoops... Just realized this is a Metal forum. Look at the name (and really? No Lamb of God?) Now I look like an old '80s dude, to put it mildly, to Metalheads (not to be confused with Metalheadz - a UK Drum n Bass label). I really do apologize - it's the meds. So, where is Metallica?, and one of their major influences, Dream Theater? Even so, anyone here still down for that throwback '80s fest in Texas...? Ok, I think I'm finished now... - Grady in Houston

anonymous 7/30/2016 10:08:35 AM

$100,000 for Crosby & Nash, but $250,000 when you throw in Stills. Haha!

anonymous 8/20/2016 6:57:16 AM

i dont wana see no old washt up singers that sounds like shit some artists dont sound as good as they youse to. i wonder if i do it to raise money for a charity like children hospital or make a wish

anonymous 9/14/2016 4:32:35 PM

When I see Van Halen $300,000 in which planet I think the prices here are a little bit Stupid or the person was high.

anonymous 10/24/2016 4:56:19 PM

Missing some artist... Alicia keys, Tori Kelly, J.Lo, Beyonce, bruno mars, Eminem, I'm sure there more. You should update ur list even more.

anonymous 12/16/2016 5:19:49 PM

Licensing royalty drive the price of some of these shifty bands up.... especially the older acts with lots of hits.... those songs cost money for the band to perform... very few artist ever had licensing and other performance right ,,,, or even if they did , thy lot or sold them, leveraged said rights, , etc etc.... this why some of these acts , can't even tour if they wanted to...

anonymous 1/31/2017 5:02:28 PM

I've been a promoter. Some of the prices quoted are probably close. You are not going to book Aerosmith for less than a million dollars. Or the Rolling Stones. They do huge productions and they are mega established stars with big catalog of hits. On the other hand, you can get Pat Travers or Rick Derringer for 5 grand or less a night, depends if they are playing in your area. And they're great performers. Black Sabbath, a 100K? Way under.

anonymous 6/22/2017 7:54:42 AM

Price's are way off. $250,000 for Billy Idol....lol The majority mentioned are way over inflated

anonymous 9/7/2017 5:40:48 PM

Judas Priest $25000? May be missing a "0" or two! And I noticed some have been long dead.

anonymous 4/28/2018 9:44:37 PM

KISS for $350,000.00?! HAHAHA! More like $4,000,000!!

anonymous 2/14/2023 8:57:16 PM

I would like to hire Vince Neil for $30

anonymous 5/31/2023 12:29:59 PM

Joe Cocker is still available? Wow! Gi'mi some of that!

anonymous 6/25/2023 8:56:05 PM

What about the band " COLD " with Scooter Ward ? ? ? I have seen several places stating muttallica was 500,000.00 a show but who knows on that.. .but with Lars...no telling.

anonymous 7/6/2023 2:37:49 PM

Hillary Duff for $500,000 (couldn't name a song of hers).... laughable i could do a lalapalooza with 6 other better bands for that price.

anonymous 264 days ago

Some of these artists are dead

anonymous 243 days ago

I've booked a few of the bands on this list and it didn't cost us the listed price and a couple of others I've inquired about and the price was accurate

anonymous 42 days ago

$30,000 for Slayer? Somehow that doesn't seem right. And if it is right, no wonder Tom Araya said "f*ck it" to touring. The three upcoming festival shows have to be paying more than 30K each. I'm sure of it.
