Judge sucked shit when they got back together, what, like 10 years ago? Probably longer. Saw them a couple of times, hoping they would get better and it didn't. I'm just sure time hasn't done them any favors.

Give it a rest with Combust. Stop trying to make them a thing. By the time these shows happen they will have been a band for EIGHT YEARS so long past being a "new" or "newer" band. They only seem new cuz new hardcore bands barely come out of NYC anymore cuz NYC kids don't care as they shouldn't care cuz NYHC has been dead since 2000. You know Combust begged to play these shows for free. Andrew Vacante is the biggest ass licker in hardcore. They get all these shows in NYC cuz they're down with hardcore show monopolist John Scanlon if the singer doesn't put on the show himself. Combust: Living rent and bills free with their parents since 2017. Around 7+ years & STILL playing first/opening.

Dwid doesn't work at all. Combust live with their parents rent & bills free & I'm beginning to think they don't work either. When not touring they just hang out at their parents' homes. Maybe their parents tell them rent, food & phone are free & health insurance is covered but you have to pay for everything else. I mean how else could Combust tour so much living in the most expensive city in the country?

^^^ Seriously, they don't draw including even in their hometown so they must be bankrolled by their parents. Five sets of parents could easily pitch in to buy them a van & pay for insurance & an AAA membership for it, full equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if these rich kid trust fund babies had one of their parents create an LLC say Combust LLC & they write off all band expenses. At least Pain Of Truth draws. Combust? Nah.

Combust gets all these big shows in NYC cuz NYC is near dead for new/er hardcore bands. They're the only active NYHC band who formed 2000-2022 left. NYHC outside of Combust is mostly pre-2K bands (especially 80s bands) & maybe ten 2022 on bands who are going nowhere. Combust is down with the lone promoter of regular hardcore shows in NYC John Scanlon who is a monopolist. They beg onto his shows & play for free.

There is truly nothing "hard" about the hardcore life these adult children choose. Essentially CosPlay lyrics because hardcore is mostly built from people that have parents who actually WORK and provide. This actually stunts the growth of these adult children because it's their parents that enable their theater of such a "hardcore life." So then these adult children just do BS gig work, make themselves super unemployment, but it doesn't matter because they have generational wealth or they'll forever live as renters with their buddies or move to a cheap state or marry someone from a country with good social benefits so they can keep playing this self inflicted "hardcore forever a kid life."
