Former Cro-Mags vocalist John Joseph releases video clarifying European tour cancellation

Former Cro-Mags vocalist John Joseph took to Instagram to explain why his current band Bloodclot cancelled their upcoming European summer tour. He released a video, as well as a written statement.
He clarified in the video that it was his decision to cancel their tour dates due to a variety of factors. The band faced trouble booking venues in countries such as Germany as a result of alleged political differences. He reiterated that he has not voted once in his life, and has been critical of every president since first coming up in the hardcore scene. Promoters also cited "medical differences", which stemmed from John Joseph's outspoken anti-vaccine stance. John Joseph stated that it shouldn't be a political decision whether one chooses to get vaccinated or not, but "they" made it such.
He was told to "censor" himself by sticking to posting only about music on Bloodclot's pages if he hoped to book shows. Rather than do so, he decided it would be best to cancel the tour. He drew comparisons between Germany's prior medical crimes during World War II and people telling him to put blind trust in the government. He claimed that the U.S. was also guilty of performing medical experiments on its citizens as well. At the end of the video, he teased the band would be entering the studio in February and new material is coming soon.

Posted this video yesterday on our band page @bloodclotnyc because people were asking why our tour next summer in Europe was canceled. This genre I grew up in since the late '70s and gave my life to - punk and hardcore - was always about challenging narratives. Saying fuck you to the man & the system. Living our way, outside the lines, and there was this thing called "Unity". All of that went out the window in 2020 for many - in fact, very few worldwide stood up against the bullshit they pulled. Some who did played and attended the NYC Tompkins Square Park protest show that we organized in April 2021 during the ILLEGAL LOCKDOWNS. Close to 3500 attended and it was an amazing day. Nothing but love in that park - there were people from all walks of life. Parents even brought their kids. We all came together and did something truly badass. Then of course the Internet crybabies had a field day trying to cancel everybody who played the gig or attended calling it a "Superspreader Event". Herbs. I will end with this…. "Integrity" means you do the right thing over personal gain. It is a willingness to do what's right regardless of the outcome. It's NOT about staying silent for "likes" and "followers" If what happened in 2020 happened back in 1981 the tables would have been turned - the majority of the punk/hardcore scene would've stood shoulder to shoulder with us.
