Between The Buried And Me has formally confirmed that their new album, Automata II, the second half of their conceptual release, will hit streets on July 13 through Sumerian Records. Cover artwork for the 32-minute long record can be viewed above.
Frontman Tommy Rogers had this to say about the new record: "Holding our tongues for 'Automata II' was challenging. We worked so hard on these songs and finally we get to release the other half of this material to the world! I think this is some of the best material we've ever released. It's a result of everything we've been striving for up to this point. There are plenty of twists/turns and bizarre moments, but there is also a lot of beauty in the music and the story. Automata is now complete and our antagonist found his version of home and peace. We are all in this together."
Dan Briggs (bass) further adds: "Automata II sees us at our most dynamic and most creative. It feels like turning a page into a whole new terrain and us working all these years together to arrive at this point. It's quirky, adventurous, melodic, dark and full of theatrics."

Must be a bummer to be so good at playing your instruments but to know that no one gives a fck about what you come up with lol
I love everything this band has done but am disappointed they took one album and split it in two. If these were two 50-60 albums and they were released in a two-disc set rather than double-dipping, I'd be much happier as the music is flawless but the album experience has now become disjointed.

"We were really Challenged writing this record, seeing as how we have already diluted our record "colors" 6 times already, writing another substantially less good and more noodley record was the toughest thing we have done to date."

^ Their original drummer was the best singer this band ever had. It's a shame he bailed after the first album.
