Between The Buried And Me announce new label, album, tour

BTBAM Progressive metal purveyors Between The Buried And Me have officially signed a record deal with Sumerian Records. The label will release part one the band's new two-part album, Automata, on March 9. Pre-orders for the release will commence on Friday. (You can have a look at its cover art below.) Tommy Rogers (vocals, keyboards) comments: "Every single week music comes and goes. We can get music instantly and with this luxury, the listener has a hard time sitting down with albums and exploring their every twist and turn. Because of this, we have decided to release our new album in two parts. Our music is dense and our albums are very long, so we want to give people two separate moments to dive in this year and explore new music that we've put our entire being into. We hope you enjoy the creation as much as we've enjoyed the process." In related news, BTBAM will tour the U.S. in March and early April with The Dear Hunter and Leprous. Dates are as follows: 3/2 Chicago, IL @ House of Blues 3/3 Minneapolis, MN @ First Ave 3/5 Denver, CO @ Ogden Theatre 3/6 Salt Lake City, UT @ The Complex 3/8 Seattle, WA @ Showbox 3/9 Portland, OR @ Wonder Ballroom 3/10 San Francisco, CA @ The Regency Ballroom 3/11 Anaheim, CA @ House of Blues 3/13 Los Angeles, CA @ Belasco Theater 3/15 Las Vegas, NV @ House of Blues 3/16 Phoenix, AZ @ Marquee 3/17 Albuquerque, NM @ Sunshine Theater 3/19 Austin, TX @ Come and Take It Live 3/20 Dallas, TX @ Canton Hall 3/21 Houston, TX @ Warehouse Ballroom 3/23 Orlando, FL @ The Beacham Theater 3/24 Ft. Isn't going from Metal Blade to Sumerian a massive step backwards?

anonymous 1/17/2018 10:51:44 AM

Metal Blade >>>>>> Sumerian Records. Hot Turds >>>> American Satan

I work at MB. with the response we saw from the AILD pre-order vinyl splatters, this was a strictly business decision to part ways with BTBAM. More resources have been allocated to printing and filling the growing number of back orders. Parting deal is that BTBAM will fill in as rotating support on AILD fall headliner.

I LOVE this band! Best news this year! That being said, I am worried about the breaking into two parts thing! I like that their albums are usually between 60 minutes to a full 74 minute disc. I HOPE this means we will be getting two of these full discs which is then a HUGE win, and NOT a 60-74 minute album chopped into two 30-38 minute mini-albums.

^i'd bet a stack of sheetrock it's the latter scenario, especially now that they're on $umerian.

This is what happens when the ego of a band surpasses their actual songwriting abilities. They get shitty.
