the case isn't resetting, it's moving forward. now the state has made a preliminary showing that supports the charges. it was the first opportunity for the defense to get the case dismissed. they failed, but it's a low bar for the state. now the higher bar of "beyond a reasonable doubt" sets in because we're finally looking toward the trial. at this point, an offer to resolve the case is generally made, if not at the arraignment, then certainly at the pre-trial. my bets are on a guilty plea.
