"my dog died and I need time off work to cope"

I would've not worked as well. I don't care. But I have a job where if I don't show up it's just going to be there when I do cause I'm the only one doing it.

I don't get why people give excuses. Just say, I can't make it in today.
Lol yep.
I had a boss many years ago that would always ask me why I was calling in. It was rare that I did anyway so when he would ask me I would literally say "I just need the day off."
One day I called him and he was like "Let me guess. You just need the day off." And I said "Nope. I'm literally to hungover to come in today."
He told me if I wanted to drink like a man I better work like one but thanked me for the honesty.

yeah now if it's made up that's horseshit. I never made up excuses to take off. But usually i'm planning it out.
only call outs was "yo I'm sick" and that's it. I've never had any job where anyone gave me the third degree about calling out. I guess I've been lucky. hearing all these horror stories about that shit is foreign to me.

When I got out of the military, my dad's friend hooked me up with a job. This MF called my dad to find out why I wasnt at working every time I called in. Real bitch move by that dude.

I took a long lunch for my dads funeral and I spent most of it eating those small sandwiches

I don't even have to tell anyone. I'm the boss. I work 24/7. If I'm not in people know I'll be back eventually, or how to reach me
