Bitter Tongues becomes Career Criminal

Austin, TX outfit Bitter Tongues has changed their name, among other things, to Career Criminal. Here's a statement from the band: "Bitter Tongues has been pretty inactive over the past year and a half due to a multitude of reasons. We finally added a new guitarist (Ribs Mason of Pride Kills, 10 Crowns, Iron Age fame) and we couldn't possibly be happier with our little Ribsy-poo. However, during our year and a half hiatus, we began writing/recording some songs that were worlds apart from our previous material. We planned to release it as Bitter Tongues, but it soon became apparent that this project is a completely seperate entity. So, folks, consider this your formal introduction to Career Criminal, a stripped-down oi/punk/hardcore influenced in no small part by Sham 69, The Four Skins, Cro-Mags and Slapshot." The group will enter the studio with Stan Wright (Death Threat) later this month to complete a new EP. Meanwhile, the band has lined up the following shows: 6/26 Austin, TX @ Emo's w/ Fucked Up 7/21 Austin, TX @ Red Seven w/ Down to Nothing, Saint Street Brawlers 8/17 Austin, TX @ Red Seven w/ Reagan Youth, Doomsday Hour
