Sincerity Fest (PA) details

The first ever Sincerity Fest will be taking place in Pittsburgh, PA on Sat. June 16 and Sun. June 17, 2007 at the Ches-A-Rena roller rink complex. The fest will feature 17 bands each day, including many national acts and some yet to be announced. You can check out more information here. Here's a statement from the folks responsible for the show: "This fest is inspired by uninspirational artists. A countless number of sterile bands were sat through in order to make this fest possible. It's so disheartening to see something that was once such an amazing thing to you become bastardized by "the industry" and every other factor that has to do with bands being forced to put out albums by a certain deadline and things of that nature. What may be worse than this, however, are the generation of bands beneath the ones on top of the marketing heap who are only trying to emulate the already lifeless, pathetic excuses for bands. Sincerity Fest is a dedication to the bands of today who strive to remain creative, genuine and honest in their attempts to keep their heads up despite the ever-rising level of pure shit in this scene of music. It's also a way for me to see all of my favorite bands from the country together in one weekend. This fest shall not be limited to one genre of music or another. As stated above, genuine artists is the driving motivation for this fest ... regardless of style. Inspiring speakers shall also be included ... as well as vegan food. Get into it."
