Facedown Records signs Means

Facedown Records has signed Canadian post-hardcore band Means. Facedown owner Jason Dunn comments: "The main thing that stuck out for me was the quality of the songwriting and the 'real' sounding vocals that are sung with passion. Matt has an incredible voice with a lot of melody but also a power that most singers today don’t have. The balance of Matt and Dylan's vocals complement each other greatly and the music behind it all is as tight as it could be." Dylan Johnstone (vocalist) had this to say about the deal: “Facedown is the perfect label to break us into the American scene. I know we'll get along great. When I hear [the name] 'Facedown' I think 'integrity' and I can't wait to get on the road with that name behind us!" Means has previously released a full-length ("In Red Grace" - Lonely Tree Records) and a four-song EP ("More Than Watchmen for the Morning" - Torque Records). The group's new album, "Sending You Strength," was recorded and engineered by John Paul Peters (Comeback Kid, Every New Day) and will see a March 6, 2007 release. In the interim, you can listen to some of their older material here.
