Metal Blade Records has officially announced the signing of Omaha, NE melodic speed/power metal band Cellador. According to the label, the group's demo was passed onto Metal Blade president Brian Slagel via members of The Black Dahlia Murder. According to Slagel, "I am truly excited about our latest signing, Cellador. They are a young band with incredible musicianship and songs. We have been looking just for this type of band who mix the old school metal with a fresh attitude." Cellador guitarist Chris Petersen had this to say:
"We are very proud and excited to be welcomed to the Metal Blade family. With its current roster and unprecedented history of dedication and integrity, it is with great honor and gratitude that we have been chosen and given the opportunity to represent true American melodic speed metal on one of the biggest labels in the world of metal. Their past success and dedication is only a greater source of inspiration now for us to press forth with pushing true metal to its extreme. Look out for us!!"
Formed in 2004, the band will enter the studio in December to record their Metal Blade debut, which should hit stores next spring. In the interim, you can check out some of their material here.
