Sex Pistols announce North American tour with Frank Carter on vocals

Seminal U.K. punk rock band the Sex Pistols have announced their first tour of North America since 2003, featuring British hardcore staple Frank Carter on vocals.

The tour begins at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas, TX (a venue the Sex Pistols are very familiar with) on September 16th and ends at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on October 16th. A total of 13 shows have been announced at the time of writing, with more dates to be announced at a later time. Tickets go on sale April 4th, with pre-sale opening up on April 2nd and 3rd.

In the meantime, Frank Carter and the Sex Pistols are currently playing the Punkspring festival in Japan. They'll then be embarking on a tour of New Zealand and Australia in April before spending June through August in Europe. Their final scheduled appearance before the North American tour begins will be at The Town festival in São Paulo, Brazil on September 7th.

In addition to Carter, the Sex Pistols' current touring lineup includes three of the band's four founding members – including guitarist Steve Jones, bassist Glen Matlock, and drummer Paul Cook. Unsurprisingly, given the legal drama that played out between he and his former bandmates back in 2021, original Sex Pistols vocalist John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) is not involved in their current touring schedule.

As Steve Jones told the Associated Press:

"The last thing he wants to do is have anything to do with us right now."
