Tsunami Sea, the second full-length from Canadian alternative metal band Spiritbox, has landed at No. 26 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The new album — released via Rise Records in conjunction with Pale Chord, a label originally established for the release of Spiritbox music — sold just over 22,000 album-equivalent units in the United States during its first week of release. Of that tally, some 16,000 units were comprised of album sales (10,000 of which were from vinyl).
In addition to its showing on the Billboard 200, Tsunami Sea debuted at No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, No. 4 on the Top Album Sales chart, and No. 3 on the Vinyl Albums chart.
By comparison, Spiritbox's previous LP, 2021's Eternal Blue, bowed at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 on the strength of 23,000 album-equivalent units (19,000 of which were pure album sales) sold during its initial week in the United States.
To date, Eternal Blue has sold nearly 235,000 equivalent album units in the United States.
