Metal label We Are Triumphant have announced that they are officially shutting down this year.
Founded in Boston in 2010, We Are Triumphant put out releases from bands like Traitors, Left Behind, Extortionist, Imminence, Black Tongue, and many more. However, the label hasn't been without controversy, as they trading insults back and forth with Traitors, got into some beef with Jared Dines, and faced numerous allegations of not paying bands.
While this might sound like the end, they will be continuing on under a new name: LIFE OR DEATH.
Founder Greg Long's full statement:
WE ARE TRIUMPHANT 2010 - 2025
Fifteen years ago, I started this label with nothing but a dream and the will to create a place where artists could develop, grow, and be discovered. I had no blueprint, no connections—just a vision and the drive to bring it to life. I built We Are Triumphant before I could even legally drink, fueled by passion, ambition, and a relentless belief in the artists I worked with.
Today, after 15 years of breaking boundaries, pushing new sounds, and building careers, We Are Triumphant is closing its doors. This label has been my life's work, my greatest adventure, and an undeniable force in the music industry. Over a billion streams later, and after signing over 100 bands releasing over 1,000 tracks, it's time to lay We Are Triumphant to rest.
To every artist who trusted me—to Neck Deep, Sworn In, Point North, Black Tongue, Breakdown of Sanity, and all the incredible bands in between—thank you. Thank you for taking this ride with me, for trusting in my vision, and for giving the world music that will outlive us all.
But as one chapter ends, another begins. With the wealth of experience I've gained developing these artists, I'm ready to start fresh. This isn't the end—it's a rebirth.
LIFE OR DEATH is the future. It's truly live or die. LORD will be the new home for our legacy catalog and the foundation for new projects moving forward. We've already begun this new era with releases from WSTR, Imminence, SayWeCanFly, and many more. The next decade of music development is on the horizon, and I couldn't be more excited for what's to come. I hope you join me for another ride of discovering new artists.
LIFE OR DEATH FOREVER.
