Downset. has signed a record deal with Orange County, CA hardcore label New Age Records.
Guitarist Rogelio Lozano is now the sole veteran member still involved with the group. Vocalist Joe Hyde (ex-Illmatic) replaces the band's longtime frontman Rey Oropeza. Bassist Renato Barbosa and drummer Betto Cardoso (from Project46) complete the lineup.
The band is currently working on new material and is expected to make an official announcement about their upcoming release later in the summer.
New Age Records founder Mike Hartsfield commented:
I have known Rogelio for decades and I have seen Downset blow up since forming in the 90's. I'm really excited to see what we can do together. They are legends in hardcore.
Additionally, Downset is embarking on a tour that will kick off in the U.S. and conclude in Europe.

I think it's time for this band or band name to hang it up . I am a big Downset fan , but not this line up .

Band was always embarrassing but the only distinct thing about them was the singer. At least change the name
Well if South America and Europe still love them, no matter the line up, keep playing I guess.
The guitar player is the reason the other OG members won't do it.
