Something Is Waiting collaborate with Jon Hunt of Dead To Fall on "In the Pool (Wetworld)"

Sounding unlike any other band of today, Something Is Waiting exudes all the swagger of the latter-day hair metal saints and up-and-coming groove-metal goons who filled Riki Rachtman's cue cards in the earliest days of the '90s, yet seethes with enough vitriol to delight the nihilistic noise rock hordes who gathered to witness its set at this year's Caterwaul Festival.
Six years deep, inspired as much by the early works of Ross Robinson as by the most caustic cuts from the AmRep catalog, the band is in a league of its own, the undisputed king of its own genre: "nu roll"... The band's third album, Absolutely, drops August 18th on Learning Curve Records.
Today the band has unveiled a new single featuring Dead To Fall vocalist Jon Hunt.
"Upon seeing Dead To Fall reunite, a band we've always loved, we thought 'Why not see if we can get Jon Hunt on the track?' He immediately said yes. He cut his vocals with me in the studio on a weekend when he flew in for a Chicago Bears game, which makes this extra special for me. What I love about this song is there's a real duet aspect. We're not just piling on and layering each other's vocals. We're dancing around each other. You don't hear that often. Alice Cooper's song with Chris Cornell, 'Stolen Prayer,' comes to mind.
This is a summer song. Easy for Katy Perry, not so much for heavy bands. But I think we nailed it. It's a song about day drinking."
Flying off the rails like Metalocalypse's Dr. Rockzo on a bender, Something Is Waiting seem steeped in '80s rocker sleeze and swagger, and "In the Pool (Wetworld)" is destined for MTV's primetime slots of the same anthemic era. That's where the anachronism ends though - the trio clearly have a knack for groove and pristine production that this millennium provides. Guitars crunch loudly, bass is bouncy, drums rollick and punch hard, and the vocals' serrated timbre tops the track off like a bandana across the forehead. Dead To Fall's Jon Hunt helps layer the vocals with his trademark snarl as well. The track's catchiness is its best asset, itself a callback to rock's former glory, but houses a new edge to clash and hold its own in the modern era.

I live in Chicago and nobody credible takes this band seriously.
DORK IN MIDDLE OUT HERE TRYING TO DRESS LIKE GRAMMY WITH THE CARDIGAN AND 32 PAIR OF "TROUSERS."
Shit band that does nothing but play venues like a Cobra Lounge and Livewire Lounge -where Shia Hulud once got booked and it was bands playing for bands- does some more shit that nobody gives a rat's ass about.
Imagine actually looking at that album art and being like "This is something I should buy." 😂
If you have to get guest spots to get people to pay attention to your band, you probably shouldn't be a band
