Animals As Leaders guitar tech Dave Cohen passes away on tour

Over the weekend it was announced Dave Cohen suddenly passed away. At the time of his passing, Cohen was on tour with Animals As Leaders filling out the role of guitar tech.
Cohen had a passion for guitars, he loved creating them enough to become a luthier and start his own business Equilibrium Guitars. Cohen also was a part of multiple bands; most recently in Chuggernaut.
Animals As Leaders is currently on tour supporting Dream Theater and Devin Townsend.
The following is a statement given by the band:
Dear friends,
Last night we experienced a part of life that none of us look forward to, the unexpected passing of our dear friend and guitar tech Dave Cohen. He was an amazing person, loved by all who met him. He was a wise and centered being. A true inspirational person to be around. We are thankful for the experiences and memories we shared with Dave. Our condolences go out to his friends and family. A soul is lost but never forgotten. 🖤
UPDATE: According to a post made on Reddit, Cohen may have been injured in the mosh pit while attending a Counterparts show in Billings, Montana, during an off-day on the tour with Animals As Leaders, ultimately leading to his death. The fan claims to have contacted the venue and been given the band's Instagram post. Furthermore, the Animals As Leaders post on Instagram above confirms its location as Billings, Montana, further solidifying this claim.
The fan states:
On Sunday night at I was at a counterparts show. Guitar tech for animals as leaders was in the pit enjoying the show, when unexpectedly things took a turn. I had posted about it earlier. I asked the venue what his condition was. They sent me this post.
As for what happened. "He took an elbow to the face, lost consciousness, and never regained it. Paramedics tried all they could, they performed cpr and used defibrillators after he was having a seizure. It was very sad to see. RIP, prayers to his friends and family."

UPDATE: The moments leading up to the incident at the venue, as discussed on Reddit, remain unverified, as no official statement has been issued as of yet. Another user who claims to work at the venue clarified on the Reddit post that this was not the result of a moshing accident.
The user explains:
"as someone who works at the venue and has been dealing with this for hours. this isn't as simple as some may it to be. at the end of the day, it was an accident. BUT ALSO THIS WASNT A MOSHING ACCIDENT. this man was barside and fell. from emts and other people around. it seem liked it was. cardiac arrest.
but like people mosh and get hit, it happens. ive been hit so hard before too. but accidents happen. as soon as we see a gofundme for the family we will donating. but pointing blame on anyone is silly. we all go to violent shows and ive definitely some nasty stuff but as "hard" this crowd was going, it wasn't anything super hard. This crowd had alot more pushing moshing than hardcore dancing. The possible reason why the venue hasn't said anything because we wanted the peoples family to be involved first before we started talking about it"
