Swedish black metal band Marduk has announced that they have parted ways with their bassist Joel Lindholm after a video surfaced showing him performing a Nazi salute on stage.
According to the band's Facebook post, Lindholm's departure was due to "intolerable stage antics" during Marduk's performance at Incineration Fest. The band's former bass player, Magnus Andersson (aka Devo), has agreed to step in on a temporary basis to fill the void.
The video in question shows Marduk performing at Incineration Fest in Camden, UK. Around the 45-minute mark, Lindholm can be seen performing what appears to be a Nazi salute, as pointed out by MetalSucks.

The statement the band gave is as follows:
"Following a variety of intolerable stage antics by a very drunk Joel at Incineration Fest last week, he has vacated his position in the band. Our old friend and bass player Devo has agreed to step in on a temporary basis, so this is unlikely to affect any of upcoming shows."

Rick look closer at the photo, there is the right arm from the bass player straight up doing the nazi salute behind the arm of the singer. Also in general rick it's a bad look to rush to the defense of a nazi douche bag. We fought a war against those dicks and won. Be better
either rick is a lazy troll and puts minimum effort into his boring comments or he's trying his absolute best and this is what he has to show for it.
I'm sure Marduk Inc. has a pretty robust and professional HR department. Seems unlikely that they could terminate his employment for just this unless there had been other well-documented instances of toxic workplace behavior leading up to this one.

Like many good Euro black metal bands, it's a poorly kept secret that Marduk leans to the right politically. I like how they just said they were tired of his drunken antics and had an immediate replacement. Seems like they were just looking for an excuse to get rid of him rather than worried about the cancelers coming after them.
