Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello defends "untouchable" Meg White of The White Stripes
Morello says she has "style and swag and personality and oomph and taste and awesomeness that’s off the charts"
Following a recent controversy surrounding Meg White's drumming ability, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine has come to her defense. The drama started when writer Lachlan Markay criticized Meg's musicianship in a now-deleted tweet during Women's History Month. Markay's tweet quickly gained attention, resulting in backlash from many musicians, including Meg's former bandmate and ex-husband Jack White. Markay eventually apologized and deleted his tweets.
Tom Morello took to Instagram to express his opinion, stating that Meg is "one of the greatest drummers in the history of rock n roll." Morello praised Meg's style and personality and criticized those who focus solely on technical ability. He stated that Meg's records are a testament to her ability to rock the planet while doing it her own way.
The statement read:

Markay's initial tweet read, "The tragedy of the White Stripes is how great they would've been with a half-decent drummer." His tweet received significant backlash, with many musicians and fans coming to Meg's defense.

Long story short but Zack De La Morris once approached your mans (with a strange looking family in tow, who wore nothing but corn-husk covered burlap clothing and just stood in a line, gently smiling and nodded their heads at me as Zack spoke... weird.) about doing some guitar for a new project wherein he would first make himself cry by looking at photos of ragged-clothed desert nomads on the back of dilapidated Chevy S-10 pickups with jerry-rigged anti-aircraft .50 cals, emblazoned in the dusk-buttered sun. Then, he would start freestyling over the sounds of ancient threshing/baling machines being atomized in the furnace of a dying garbage power plant. This was all well and good, but the eagle vision reflection of ZDLM babbling like some sort of blubbering loon was quickly blurred by a wisp of ciggy smoke, and before he knew it, lil weirdo was suspended, upside-down, in total darkness, for millennia to come.
