Glass Casket sign to Silent Pendulum, new album in the works after 17 years

glass casket

Silent Pendulum announced that they have signed the North Carolina death metal band, Glass Casket. This also stands as the official reunion of the band after years of swirling rumors of a reunion and the possibility of new music. It has been 17 years since the group released its last album Desperate Man's Diary in 2006; before that they released We Are Gathered Here Today in 2004.

Glass Casket features guitarist Dustie Waring and drummer Blake Richardson from Between The Buried In Me. The two joined the band just prior to the release of Alaska, which can explain the long absence of Glass Casket.

Silent Pendulum CEO Michael Kadnar shared a brief video on the label's YouTube channel giving a bit of information on the signing and release. You can watch that below.

Silent Pendulum CEO - hahahaha. I bet that title on a business card opens almost as many doors as Lambgoat CEO. #lifefail101

Jesus christ all these bands forget they broke up because nobody gave a f*ck the last time they were around

PoultryInMotion 1/27/2023 11:30:44 AM

they don't look like they've aged a bit

anonymous 1/27/2023 12:13:45 PM

Jesus christ all these bands forget they broke up because nobody gave a f*ck the last time they were around ^nailed it, weird how the passing of time somehow elevates bands that people really didn't care about back when they were current or bands that were totally middle of the road, looking at you Bleeding Through/Throwdown, who somehow become scene legends when they were just run of the mill tour openers in their prime.

anonymous 1/27/2023 12:23:56 PM

Yeah they definitely joined before Alaska. Is 2000s speed core metal screeching actually returning???

anonymous 1/27/2023 12:44:47 PM

Zoomer kids are popularizing all these throwaway early 00's ozzfest metalcore bands again

oillipolo 1/27/2023 1:06:34 PM

glass clasket, undying, bloodlet, disembodied and prayer for cleansing set f*ck me I'd leave that show in a body bag.

anonymous 1/27/2023 1:07:39 PM

BT, 18v and throwdown are asked for. the likes of mid to late 00s NC gayery like this and killwhitneydead are not. also looking at you dr acula, dance club massacre, with dead hands rising, belay my last, and hell followed with. this shit was all for posers in 2008

anonymous 1/27/2023 1:08:17 PM

nailed it ^

anonymous 1/27/2023 1:19:03 PM

Nobody wants to hear some fugly in a mullet crying about life. Was wondering who recorded that gaia, ever heard of a click track?

anonymous 1/27/2023 1:31:03 PM

Ass Gas cl*t

lake_flaccid 1/27/2023 2:50:03 PM

Sorry

lake_flaccid 1/27/2023 2:52:39 PM

For those of you crying about how time "elevates" bands: this is true for pretty much all art. Plenty of movies that failed at the time have been reevaluated as great. A good example of this is The Thing.

anonymous 1/27/2023 3:07:19 PM

time surely doesn't elevate low tier metalcore. it's only the they them crowd that found it recently, but with a fraction of views and sales they had 15 plus years ago.

anonymous 1/27/2023 3:21:42 PM

Dudes more like Ass Gasket. LOL

anonymous 1/27/2023 3:38:16 PM

All the low-mid tier metalcore bands who couldn't even headline back in the day are playing to 40 people or opening for bands like seeyouspacecowboy

anonymous 1/27/2023 4:42:08 PM

no one from 15 years ago is opening for see you my born with penis

lake_flaccid 1/27/2023 4:43:23 PM

Reunited bands play to a very specific group of people, sure. Hardcore is a genre built on pretending to know more than one does, there are plenty of kids lining up to see old bands play for cred alone. They will buy merch. At least in LA. .

anonymous 1/27/2023 5:46:08 PM

Death metal my ass, this is poser gay metal. You f*cking posers don't know shit!

anonymous 1/27/2023 6:05:38 PM

I back this hard. I'm old as f*ck

anonymous 1/27/2023 7:00:27 PM

Harping on bad 00s southern metalcore. I'll add the Judas Cradle

anonymous 1/27/2023 7:42:06 PM

Another band that's better than AC/DC

anonymous 1/27/2023 9:17:01 PM

Get the f*ck out. With Dead Hands Rising did a ton of shit for their scene and anyone thinking that nobody gives a f*ck about them any more can peep the footage of their set from Midwest Meltdown in Iowa.

anonymous 1/27/2023 9:20:26 PM

" BT, 18v and throwdown are asked for. the likes of mid to late 00s NC gayery like this and killwhitneydead are not. also looking at you dr acula, dance club massacre, with dead hands rising, belay my last, and hell followed with. this shit was all for posers in 2008" WDHR HAD ALREADY RELEASED A SPLIT WITH WINGS OF SCARLET AND TEARS WILL DROWN IN 2002. THEIR FIRST RECORD WAS RELEASED IN 2003 SO DON'T EVEN PLAY THAT "THEY'RE POSERS FROM 2008 SHIT, F @ G.

anonymous 1/27/2023 9:37:01 PM

Maybe not posers but really bad. Really really bad

anonymous 1/27/2023 9:46:18 PM

Did a tour with dead hands rising and liferuiner, they had to drop because the vocalist got sick after a port a potty was dumped on him…I'm not making this up

anonymous 1/27/2023 9:49:41 PM

Glass Casket was nasty af back in the day. God bless.

anonymous 1/27/2023 11:35:43 PM

Over the kneebone sock salesmen are hyped, shit's a windfall.

anonymous 1/28/2023 1:30:21 AM

Lot of ppl talking out of their ass here. Also the fatty from BTBAM was in the band WAY the f*ck before Colors came out, we r talking YEARS here. Dead Man's Diary f*cking kicked ass when it came out and still holds up today. The real question is if they can capture that sound again. Belive it or not there is demand for BTBAM but only the nasty bits, out there. Stoked on it. Not even an americ*nt.

anonymous 1/28/2023 6:02:09 AM

Great band. Second album is one of my favorite releases in that era. Drummer and guitarist should go back to this project and let BTBAM sink.

anonymous 1/28/2023 6:07:01 AM

I cannot stand whatever the f*ck btbam are trying soundwise now….so yea let it sink

anonymous 1/28/2023 7:06:17 AM

Glass Casket records from a musical and artistic standpoint shit allover almost every release in between 2003 and 2006. There is no comparable band that has equal proficiency in song writing, technicality, artistry, production, and well roundedness. If you can't see that then you're a mark bitch.

anonymous 1/28/2023 7:22:36 AM

Those two albums were solid. They'll probably set up a tour with btbam. It'll sell out and the "No one cares" crowd will still crying rofl.

anonymous 1/28/2023 8:07:09 AM

Glass Casket ruled back in the day. I look forward to some new material.

anonymous 1/28/2023 9:14:44 AM

HAHAHAHHA @ the numbnuts who compared shit hardcore bands to art aging. Please suicide yourself asap.

anonymous 1/28/2023 9:38:39 AM

^ 5'9, wears a fedora. Drinks coke everyday, eats doritos, buys all groceries from frozen section of Walmart, will die before age 60, had traumatic childhood, formed poor coping mechanism and developed social struggles, has deep seated insecurities in a cognitively dissonant manner, identifies with Nelson muntz of the Simpsons, has at one time owned a punisher sticker, struggles forming meaningful relationships with people, hates their life.

anonymous 1/28/2023 9:52:46 AM

^Don't forget the deep rooted Homosexuality and the transvestite mannerisms behind closed doors. Think, Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. "Would you f*ck me? I'd f*ck me. I'd f*ck me hard. I'd f*ck me so hard."

anonymous 1/28/2023 2:20:11 PM

KIDS TALKING SHIT ON WDHR OBVIOUSLY NEVER HEARD THAT FIRST RECORD WHICH IS ALL TECH METAL MOSH. THE HORROR GROWS NEAR IS ALSO OFF THE CHAIN.

anonymous 1/28/2023 3:20:21 PM

anonymous 1/28/2023 3:51:33 PM

Imagine wearing a low cut shirt in 2023 at 30 years old like this absolute flamefest of a "CEO" lol jfc

anonymous 1/28/2023 5:01:56 PM

WTDHR was great. BTBAM (first two albums) WTDHR and Into the Moat literally made the blueprint for what became the prog metalcore trend.

anonymous 1/28/2023 5:19:22 PM

with dead hands rising was never great. lets just bring up embrace the end and underneath the gun while were at it for throwaway 00s myspace bands. the banner is stoked. lot of ex band members or family members up in these comments. lol

anonymous 1/28/2023 7:01:47 PM

anonymous 1/28/2023 8:41:07 PM

BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REUNION FOR 17 f*ckING YEARS. FINALLY!!!!!!! Desperate mans diary is some of the most raw, passionate emotional real heart wrenching incredible shit ever sung by a human. After someone close to me died I very, very closely related to this album. Super underrated band

anonymous 1/28/2023 8:49:49 PM

Anyone trying to trash Embrace the End is immoderately dismissed. You clearly know nothing about how to play an instrument. Let me guess you hate them but like Animosity? Moronic hot take of the day.

anonymous 1/28/2023 9:13:37 PM

" anonymous 3 hours ago with dead hands rising was never great. lets just bring up embrace the end and underneath the gun while were at it for throwaway 00s myspace bands. the banner is stoked. lot of ex band members or family members up in these comments. lol" ^knocked loose fan.

anonymous 1/28/2023 9:16:55 PM

SOME TRUE F @ G S IN HERE TALKING SHIT ON f*ckING MIDWEST BANDS. YOU GOT A BONE TO PICK WITH 7 ANGELS 7 PLAGUES, AMORA SAVANT, COMA ETERNAL DEAD TO FALL, MISERY SIGNALS, NEHEMIAH, WALLS OF JERICHO, AND WINGS OF SCARLET TOO?

anonymous 1/28/2023 9:18:56 PM

kids trying to talk smack cuz they never seen any of the bands that all the copy and paste bands of today have tried ripping off and can't even do that right.

anonymous 1/28/2023 9:23:34 PM

look at the same loser and / or his friends posting back to back to back over a trash heap from the 00s. don't talk metalcore. it's not your "thing"

anonymous 1/29/2023 12:04:59 AM

Buncha old guys goin at it in here

anonymous 1/29/2023 8:48:19 AM

Finally this label signed a good band

anonymous 1/29/2023 9:04:34 AM

look at the same loser and / or his friends posting back to back to back over a trash heap from the 00s. don't talk metalcore. it's not your "thing" The bands people have mentioned were underrated and overlooked due to the sheer volume of the scene in that period. This isn't their fault for being on trash labels who wouldn't back or fund them properly to gain more exposure. Most of the aforementioned were ahead of their time in an era where chugga chug like August Burns Red was king. Sit down you piss flap.

anonymous 1/29/2023 9:37:43 AM

they weren't ahead of anything in that era. if they were above run of the mill they would of made it or been signed to a notable label. wasn't the case and sheer volume was the only reason they got why kind of coverage. talent alone pack sand.

anonymous 1/29/2023 9:50:17 AM

" Glass Casket features guitarist Dustie Waring and drummer Blake Richardson from Between The Buried In Me. The two joined the band just prior to the release of Colors, which can explain the long absence of Glass Casket" They were both on Alaska, the album released at least 2 years before Colors. Maybe you should do a tad bit of research before you post articles and maybe you won't show how much of a dumb f*ck you are every single time.

anonymous 1/29/2023 10:26:34 AM

they weren't ahead of anything in that era. if they were above run of the mill they would of made it or been signed to a notable label. wasn't the case and sheer volume was the only reason they got why kind of coverage. talent alone pack sand. You clearly know nothing. Victory was a notable label but it doesn't mean it's a label who is good to its roster. You're trying to equate units with "good". Using your logic Attack Attack! is on the Mount Rushmore of metalcore.

anonymous 1/29/2023 10:47:01 AM

"They weren't ahead of anything in that era. if they were above run of the mill they would of made it or been signed to a notable label. wasn't the case and sheer volume was the only reason they got why kind of coverage. talent alone pack sand." The only reason this band never took off was because the members they shared with BTBAM considered BTBAM their first priority. If there was no BTBAM this project would have become a massive name in the scene, as opposed to a best kept secret. If you know ANYTHING about making an extreme music record you would be able to recognize that both Glass Casket records are of superb quality in every metric.

anonymous 1/29/2023 11:56:28 AM

" anonymous 14 hours ago look at the same loser and / or his friends posting back to back to back over a trash heap from the 00s. don't talk metalcore. it's not your "thing"" What a piss ass. 😂

anonymous 1/30/2023 1:50:00 AM

The glass casket members came up in the late 1990s metal core scene via prayer for cleansing you mark bitch. They would regularly attend disembodied shows.

anonymous 2/17/2023 8:42:13 AM

Listen to their 2 albums. Extremely heavy. Cannot wait!
