Winter Solstice signs w/ Metal Blade Records

Virginia-based metal/hardcore band Winter Solstice has offically signed with Metal Blade Records. Formed in 2001, the band has previously released an EP with Harvest Earth Records. Here's a statement from Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel regarding the deal: "It's great to have the Winter Solstice guys as part of the Metal Blade family. They are a very hard working and talented group that have an amazing live performance and work ethic that can take them all the way." The band will enter Detroit's Cloud City Studios in October with Mike Hasty (of Walls Of Jericho) to record their debut full-length, which should hit stores in early-2005.

What crap. The only thing holding Metal Blade up these days is Unearth, The Red Chord and BDM (as far as recent signings).

Metal Blade has been signing some really good metal/hardcore bands lately. I haven't heard Winter Solstice yet but I have heard some about them. But I will still see Metal Blade as a primarily Death/Heavy Metal label.
