It's been five years since influential industrial/groove metal outfit Fear Factory released any new music, but it appears that 2021 will end the drought.
Amid lamenting his various struggles (see below) over the last four years yesterday, September 2 (his birthday), Fear Factory guitarist and co-founder Dino Cazares stated that new music from the band would arrive in 2021. Unfortunately, no further details regarding said music were shared.
Plagued by legal issues the last several years, it's unclear who is even in Fear Factory at this point. In February of last year, vocalist Burton C. Bell announced that the group would release a new album titled Monolith later that year. The album obviously never arrived, and Cazares seemed to deny its very existence six months later. With the aforementioned legal issues now apparently resolved, Cazares can likely dictate proceedings going forward.
We'll have to wait and see what transpires, but look for new Fear Factory in the not too distant future.
