ex-Anthrax singer Dan Nelson arrested for assaulting elderly man
Former Anthrax lead vocalist Dan Nelson was arrested yesterday for assaulting an elderly man in New York City two weeks ago.
According to the New York Post, the 43-year-old Nelson allegedly beat up a 74-year-old man inside a Queens hotel on August 30. After repeatedly punching the man in the face, Nelson left the scene, but turned himself into authorities yesterday. He was reportedly charged with assault and harrassment and was awaiting arraignment as of Wednesday night.
Nelson fronted Anthrax between 2007 and 2009, receiving a handful of co-writing credits on the band's 2011 album, Worship Music. In 2012, Nelson settled a lawsuit he filed against Anthrax related to his exit from the band. Settlement details were not disclosed.
