As his house was burning beyond repair on Monday night in Florida,
Cannibal Corpse guitarist
Pat O'Brien illegally entered a nearby home and spoke of the "rapture" before attempting to hide in a closet.
While declining to speak on camera, the house's owner told
ABC Action News that he thought O'Brien, whom he didn't know, was hallucinating, speaking to him about the "rapture" and claiming that "someone was after him." The homeowner added that O'Brien appeared frightened and even hid in his closet.
Deputies eventually arrested O'Brien nearby as he hid behind a fence. O'Brien allegedly charged at officers with a knife before being tased and
arrested. He remains at the Hillsborough County Jail on charges of burglary and aggravated assault,
appearing before a judge yesterday for a bond hearing.
One neighbor told Action News that he never noticed anything unusual about O'Brien, stating that he was "just like a regular neighbor." He added, "Get out of the car, go right into the house. That's about it."
