Machine Head announces North American tour

Machine Head - Catharsis tour 2018 San Francisco Bay Area metal band Machine Head has announced a North American tour in support of their forthcoming album, Catharsis. Vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn comments: "It's been far too long since we've demolished venues in America, we have had an awesome and productive break writing our new album Catharsis, but now it's time for Machine Head to go melt some faces! The reaction to our last 'Evening With' tours in America were nothing short of incredible, so once again these dates will be 'Evening With' and will see us performing 2 1/2 to 3 hours every night with no opening bands. We loved performing as an Evening With for you Head Cases, and you guys loved it as well, the freedom to do whatever the fuck we wanted for as long as we wanted every night was liberating. It's not what everyone else is doing, and frankly, there are not a lot of bands who could even pull it off, but Machine Head pull it off, and we are excited as fuck to do it again. We are carving our own path here, playing by our own rules, and as an artist, it's the best feeling in the world! No festivals period, no 45 minute slots, no supporting some stupid DJ, no parking lots in a rain storm, The Head will only be "Headlining", so come on down and rage!!" 1/25 Phoenix, AZ @ Nile Theater 1/27 Albuquerque, NM @ Sunshine Theater 1/29 San Antonio, TX @ Aztec Theater 1/30 Dallas, TX @ Gas Moneky Live! 1/31 Houston,TX @ HOB 2/2 Birmingham, AL @ Saturn 2/3 Pensacola, FL @ Vinyl MH 2/5 Orlando, FL @ Plaza Live 2/6 Atlanta, GA @ Centerstage 2/8 Philadelphia, PA @ Theatre of Living Arts 2/9 New York, NY @ Playstation 2/10 Boston, MA @ Paradise Rock Club 2/11 Montreal, QC @ Club Soda 2/13 Toronto, ON @ Danforth MH 2/14 Buffalo, NY @ Town Ballroom 2/15 Pittsburgh, PA @ Stage AE 2/16 Cleveland, OH @ Agora 2/17 Detroit, MI @ Majestic 2/20 Des Moines, IA @ Woolys 2/21 Madison, WI @ Majestic 2/22 Minneapolis, MN @ First Avenue 2/23 Chicago, IL @ Concord MH 2/24 Saint Louis, MO @ Pops 2/27 Denver, CO @ Summit MH 3/1 Las Vegas, NV @ HOB 3/2 Los Angeles, CA @ Fonda 3/3 Oakland, CA @ The Fox Theater 3/5 Portland, OR @ Roseland 3/6 Vancouver, BC @ Commodore 3/7 Seattle, WA @ Showbox Market

anonymous 9/18/2017 8:06:46 AM

Their music is awful, but I appreciate Flynn's level of confidence. It must be nice to be perpetually delusional.

anonymous 9/18/2017 8:07:01 AM

I wonder if this guy realizes how much of dipsh*t he comes off as when he opens his mouth...

anonymous 9/18/2017 8:09:32 AM

Talks shit about phil ansemlo but tries to copy his every move... even with ripping off down tour name "An evening with"

anonymous 9/18/2017 8:23:16 AM

They were good before they turned into a bunch of pussies

anonymous 9/18/2017 9:12:06 AM

even with ripping off down tour name "An evening with" Down didn't invent "an evening with." That's a really really really really common term and is always used when an artist tours without an opener.

anonymous 9/18/2017 9:18:43 AM

Young bands that are just tying to catch a break in this industry are stoked.

anonymous 9/18/2017 9:49:11 AM

Full of yourself there much, Rob?

anonymous 9/18/2017 10:19:48 AM

I bet this album is going to an hour plus of Phil Anselmo bashing.....

anonymous 9/18/2017 10:48:54 AM

An evening with machine cuck

anonymous 9/18/2017 10:59:35 AM

Robb Flynn gets to fck Marta Peterson every night

even with ripping off down tour name "An evening with" Down didn't invent "an evening with." That's a really really really really common term and is always used when an artist tours without an opener. Did say that they invented it but Im pretty sure that Down for sure had done it in this particular shitty genre... Considering flynn has been a phil dick rider before it was cool to hate him Id say its pretty safe to say its a rip off..

Let freedom ring with rear buh-last!

anonymous 9/18/2017 11:53:07 AM

Is it really possible for Dave McClain to pound the drums for 3 hours a night 5 days in a row??

anonymous 9/18/2017 12:05:03 PM

"It's not what everyone else is doing, and frankly, there are not a lot of bands who could even pull it off" could name about 10 in 5 seconds

anonymous 9/18/2017 12:13:04 PM

Will draw 250-300 tops in Vegas in 1500 capacity room.

anonymous 9/18/2017 12:16:17 PM

Scour sucks, Srj sucks, AILD better than Zao or ripped off Zao? Code Orange has worn out their welcome, Decapitated are guilty.

anonymous 9/18/2017 1:18:08 PM

way to be concise, dildo

anonymous 9/18/2017 3:54:01 PM

Zao, converge, himsa, shai hulud, poison the well, darkest hour, a life once lost are all about 4 levels down from AILD

anonymous 9/18/2017 4:48:38 PM

Machine head was good until they turned fascist and started enabling beta alt right cucks. Antifa will be at this, no doubt.

anonymous 9/18/2017 4:50:46 PM

death in june and vnv nation will be on the next bill, don't worry about "a night machine head", its temporary just this time

anonymous 9/18/2017 4:56:29 PM

Machine Head is old, they can't handle the competition, simple as that. When young bands play Marta goes into cougar mode and Rob gets pissed. Guess what happened last time AILD opened for Machine Head? Marta was all up on Tim, both had hardcore backgrounds obviously. Rob got pissed and said fck it, no more openers.

anonymous 9/18/2017 5:07:07 PM

In 2017 on LG, Tim is the new Todd.

anonymous 9/18/2017 5:10:24 PM

yes. the comment polarity is being swayed

anonymous 9/18/2017 5:21:40 PM

hey sport are you saying AILD is better than Machine Head? You're fcking misguided

anonymous 9/18/2017 5:34:11 PM

If (age > 40) { prefer(machineHead) } Else {prefer(AILD)}

anonymous 9/18/2017 5:39:29 PM

hey facebook loser, this is the only math you need rob > tim

anonymous 9/18/2017 6:11:32 PM

machine head is not better than AILD. one could pull main stage numbers on mayhem (AILD), the other (rob) was given a victory records second stage mercy spot year after year.

anonymous 9/18/2017 6:26:36 PM

yeah so where is AILD now? fcking dead. Where is Machine Head? Still killing it and taking down SJWs while they're at it

anonymous 9/18/2017 6:33:04 PM

rob bedded down reba, marta, alissa, what did tim do? got some crazy chick he tried to kill. that's what his xtian morality did for him.

anonymous 9/18/2017 6:38:04 PM

Whatever, Tim will tear it up on main stage again once he makes a final choice on who he is admitting to the band

anonymous 9/18/2017 6:43:52 PM

^ facts. AILD will be right back on the A list cities house of blues circuit while rob is playing these beat venues

anonymous 9/18/2017 6:44:30 PM

^^^^^^^^^ Death In June would never fcking open for Machine Head. Try the other way around kid.

anonymous 9/18/2017 7:53:21 PM

Calling it now- new AILD backing band will be the OG Emmure backing band

anonymous 9/19/2017 3:37:17 AM

damn son u on 2 something. a deathcore tinged aild, sounds so sweet, good night my angel

anonymous 9/19/2017 4:33:06 AM

Pretty sure Tim doesn't wear fedoras like Rob ocassionally wears at the meet and greets, so one point for Tim.

anonymous 9/19/2017 6:01:05 AM

There are like 3 bands I would want to watch for 3 straight hours. Machine Head is not one of them. I don't think anyone wants 3 hours of Machine Head.

anonymous 9/19/2017 8:23:53 AM

^ truth. it's AILD and then i'm not sure who the other two are

anonymous 9/19/2017 11:44:12 AM

Tool, Five Finger Death Punch, In Flames

anonymous 9/19/2017 2:03:15 PM

lol 5FDP...

anonymous 9/19/2017 10:06:02 PM

Y'all are idiots; I went both times they did "an evening with" and it was a great time. Say what you want about Rob Flynn and yes I agree his rant about Phil was lame but they put on a hell of a show.
