Expire to break up following release of new album

Expire will release their third full-length, With Regret, on September 23rd via Bridge Nine Records. Notbaly, this will be the Milwaukee, Wisconsin hardcore band's final album, as today they have announced plans to disband in the spring of 2017, following "considerable worldwide touring." Here's the official word:
"Come Spring of next year, we'll be putting the band to rest. There isn't some huge explanation to give. To put it simply, we all decided that we would rather end it on our terms and when we want to, rather than fade off. We've never been the type to only play a few shows here and there or sit dormant for any amount of time. Expire started as a band that didn't know how to slow down and that's the way we'll end it. This band snowballed into something none of us planned for and before it's done, we want to extend a very real thank you to anyone and everyone who had a part in it over the past 7 years. Writing this comes with a pretty insane feeling, but really; thanks for supporting us, it's been fun. "Starting in September, we'll begin to say our goodbyes. Not even going to pretend like we will make it to every single city that's meant something to us, but we'll sure as hell try. Below are the dates we have as of now. Our final U.S. tour will be next spring so expect that to be announced sometime in the next few months. "Obviously with all of this being said, With Regret will be our final album. We could toss in one of a thousand clichés about it but simply put, it's the record we wanted to leave on. "We'll see y'all this fall."

I think Dillinger already used this one earlier this week.

anonymous 8/8/2016 10:59:34 AM

Generic shitty hardcore. The dude who sings is kinda a douchbag

anonymous 8/8/2016 11:13:52 AM

...who?

anonymous 8/8/2016 11:22:13 AM

I've seen em a fair amount of times to know that this band has the craziest shows in the hardcore scene. they will be missed but at least they're brutally honest then give a cliche excuse. over the years Expire became worn out and burned out, but they worked hard for this shit they deserve all the attention that they got. they gave me a run for my money and for that i am sad. RIP Expire...

anonymous 8/8/2016 11:28:36 AM

Probably the most important band that Midwest hardcore has ever had. Sad to see them go, fck the haters.

anonymous 8/8/2016 12:21:18 PM

For people reading the comments watch that you don't cut your self on all the edge. Anyway... Rip Expire

anonymous 8/8/2016 12:27:56 PM

guess they expired

anonymous 8/8/2016 12:30:09 PM

"We've never been the type to only play a few shows here and there or sit dormant for any amount of time." The best bands ARE the ones who rarely play and take their time writing good music, rather than touring nonstop playing their uninspired mediocre garbage. Rest in shit.

anonymous 8/8/2016 12:35:40 PM

20 bucks says the above comment is from that retard in TBO who cries on the internet all day.

RIP Expire... The craziest hardcore shows happened in the 80s and 90s. Sorry, dipshit..

anonymous 8/8/2016 12:46:36 PM

"Come Spring of next year, we'll be putting Celine to rest. He's just too insufferable to keep around anymore."

anonymous 8/8/2016 1:19:30 PM

The Grim Rhythm EP and the Pendulum Swings record were awesome. Their last record sucked though. Fun band that always got hated on.

anonymous 8/8/2016 1:27:05 PM

Great band! They'll be missed.

anonymous 8/8/2016 1:39:39 PM

Another band from the Fischer Price my first hardcore band starter kit bites the dust

anonymous 8/8/2016 1:55:16 PM

I thought for sure they'd be one of those bands that toured until they all turned into geezers. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise cause now other midwest bands that aren't in that lame little MWB fraterntity can shine. Plenty of great bands in the midwest have come and gone and no one outside the Midwest know about them because they weren't riding Expire's jock. Not saying Expire shouldn't be appreciated, butI'm kinda glad its over because the magic has been gone for a while.

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:01:35 PM

most important hardcore band the midwest ever had? what about modern life is war?

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:04:14 PM

"most important hardcore band the midwest ever had? what about modern life is war?" This.

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:06:13 PM

What's my girlfriend going to listen to now?

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:10:25 PM

fck! I should have waited to sell all my expire shit to kids in Austrailia. It'll be worth way more in a couple years.

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:22:50 PM

but who's beanies will tumblr girls wear

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:29:24 PM

People who now pretend they never liked Expire are very conflicted. They wanna see the final show in their town but can't handle the criticism they'll get on social media for going. Man, they should have waited to switch to exclusively listening to "real" hardcore.

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:47:53 PM

I got a feeling the break up is more related to the fact that most of the people who liked them when they started have either checked out of hardcore or have moved on with current trend of hating anythig not considered true hardcore. Its a shame when you work your way up as high as them just to have your fanbase turn on you cause hardcore kids today are just trendy hipster fcks.

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:54:15 PM

You will never be one of us - Tod Jones

anonymous 8/8/2016 2:54:21 PM

Don't worry, they'll be back in 10-20 years when kids who are listening to Pandora find them on whatever the current cool band is's station and they'll headline TIHC.

anonymous 8/8/2016 3:09:34 PM

Emmure ...it's your turn now

anonymous 8/8/2016 3:15:44 PM

"most important hardcore band the midwest ever had? what about modern life is war?" Yes

anonymous 8/8/2016 4:10:18 PM

"We could toss in one of a thousand clichés about it but simply put, we've already done that with our music." Well done.

anonymous 8/8/2016 4:11:15 PM

Its a shame when you work your way up as high as them just to have your fanbase turn on you How "high" do you think they got? Do you think this band was "big??"

anonymous 8/8/2016 4:26:53 PM

How "high" do you think they got? Do you think this band was "big??" I mean, they were pretty big in hardcore terms. Everyone knows who they are, they got alot of people into hardcore, and toured the globe. I'd say they had a pretty successful run comparitively to most hardcore bands, not that they're better than most hardcore bands.

anonymous 8/8/2016 5:21:22 PM

Kids who shout midwest blood at every show are not stoked.

anonymous 8/8/2016 6:12:44 PM

Rest in shit. LOL

anonymous 8/8/2016 9:05:47 PM

A concert barricade here. These guys have been saying they hate me for years now, yet keep coming back. Rest in shit.

anonymous 8/8/2016 9:08:25 PM

Zach from Expire here. Bring me a redbull and oreos to all of these shows so I have food for when expire breaks up.

anonymous 8/8/2016 9:10:24 PM

Play another fcking international tour with Senses Fail you fcking stupid posers. Vocalist is the biggest introverted beta-male disguised behind a douchebag shell I've ever met

anonymous 8/8/2016 9:10:31 PM

So sad Expire won't be able to fund the life saving procedures the singer of No Victory needs. Rest In Shit.

anonymous 8/8/2016 9:44:13 PM

career has expired

anonymous 8/8/2016 10:21:19 PM

this band were never any good, hence why they never MADE it

anonymous 8/8/2016 10:59:22 PM

Is Expire's music revolutionary? Not at all. Has Expire played a huge roll in putting Midwest hardcore on the map and getting more kids into hardcore? Yes. They will be missed. RIP.

anonymous 8/9/2016 1:24:35 PM

Drew from FXM here. I'll be busy lurking underage girls Instagrams and making my Spencer's Gifts beats the night of their last show. But so sad to see my bros call it quits! If anyone sees John Taylor tell him WOWWWWWWWWAAAAAA. He'll understand. XVX 666.

anonymous 8/9/2016 2:12:15 PM

Hopefully knocked loose follows suit

anonymous 8/9/2016 4:52:59 PM

Zach Dear here, I still have full blown gay AIDS. RIP MWAidsB

anonymous 8/9/2016 5:07:02 PM

fck this band. The Guitar player (Zach) kept hitting my girlfriend up while we were dating and she left me to have a one night stand with him.

anonymous 8/9/2016 5:21:56 PM

I mean, they were pretty big in hardcore terms. Everyone knows who they are, they got alot of people into hardcore, and toured the globe Hardcore big. Wow, something to be proud of. There are probably more people on earth who legitimately identify as transexual alien vampires than identify as "hardcore kids."

anonymous 8/9/2016 6:27:15 PM

zZZZzzZZzzzZzZzzZZZzzz

anonymous 8/9/2016 6:30:32 PM

can someone explain the FXM hate/beef/drama/etc or is it just goats being goats

anonymous 8/9/2016 7:33:31 PM

There are probably more people on earth who legitimately identify as transexual alien vampires than identify as "hardcore kids." That's hilarious and very true.

anonymous 8/9/2016 8:11:19 PM

I have watched this band for years and fcked my shit up a couple years ago in the pit during their set. Say what you want about their sound, this or that, but it's solid, fun music. Dudes I have met in the band down to earth and genuine. Will be missed.

anonymous 8/10/2016 1:03:05 AM

BEST NEWS EVER!!

anonymous 8/10/2016 8:37:32 AM

Just when I think Lambgoat is falling off...I get blessed with this. Today is gonna be a good day.

anonymous 8/10/2016 8:38:57 AM

On a very real level. The singer of this band has an insanely small dick.

anonymous 8/10/2016 8:50:58 PM

Good.

Chinese whispers of karebear

anonymous 8/13/2016 7:53:41 PM

Most important band the midwest has had? This statement is a fcking joke Cold As Life, Freedom, NEGATIVE fckING APPROACH - these are bands that changed hardcore. Don't get me wrong Expire is great and I will be sad to see them go but don't act like they were hardcore heroes or something cuz they definitely were not

anonymous 8/14/2016 4:34:05 PM

Skrewdriver, English Rose, Skullhead, Brutal Attack, and Youth Defense League are all waaaaay more influential than this garbage! Mid-west or not, there's too many apologist and PC bands out there !
