Dillinger Escape Plan singer bares The Black Queen

Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato and The Black Queen Official press release: The Black Queen, the Los Angeles-based trio featuring Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan), Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv, Nine Inch Nails) and Steven Alexander, preview music from their upcoming debut album, Fever Daydream, via Rolling Stone with "The End Where We Start" video. The digital single is available now via iTunes. "There's a really visual soundtrack element to the music," Puciato says of The Black Queen's music. "We talked a lot about the feel of '80s sci-fi, the sort of 'used future' thing where it sounds alien but also familiar and gives you nostalgia for a time you don't remember ever existing. Stanley Kubrick was a big influence as well." Fever Daydream, which is slated for a late 2015 release, was written and recorded while the band cocooned in a Skid Row-adjacent, downtown Los Angeles loft. "That played a big part in the sound too," continues Puciato. "Just being in this desolate environment of urban blight, completely self-contained, making this heavily emotional music together." The Black Queen produced the forthcoming album with Justin Meldal-Johnsen (M83, The Naked and Famous) executive producing.

Ahh...cmon...this isn't at all like 43% Burnt! How am I supposed to stand in the mosh pit and punch someone in the head for no reason like a neanderthal F@99OT to this kinda crap?!

Greg Puciato is a fun dude, but I wish he'd never joined DEP.

Through The Eyes of The Dead and A Black Rose Burial are not stoked. The Fall of Troy may be partially stoked. Alkaline Trio doesn't seem to mind.

I really like this. I appreciate artists trying new things because it must be really tiring playing the same style of music everyday and plus Greg actually has a good voice.

All lead singers are film buffs and all movie stars are music buffs. Can this generic, narcissistic dilletantism please stop? Greg, people liked you better when you wore t-shirt and jeans, before the Depeche Mode-wannabe garb. You're not saying anything important about movies or art. You're in a shitty underground has-been metal band whose last good record was before you were in the band. Take a note from Mike Patton and stick to what you know, Senor Cornhole.

I bet when DEP hired Puciato, they never thought he would develop into such a cash desperate loser.

Greg sings the same melody over and over... one which sounds like it's been shat from the rear of nu-metal. I think he has a great 'non-singing voice', but other than that he sounds like a knock off version of Patton trying to cover Spineshank.

anonymous 6/15/2015 4:42:27 PM

He's a bit late to the game with this turgid, self absorbed trout spit, also - just like when Frank Carter thought he was Chris Colohan as he went on to form a more passionate band with the noun 'love' in it... although Colohan is smart, Carter is a desperate hack.

Surprise, surprise! Another shit project from the steak head that ruined DEP. Go back to spanking it to Metallica, working out to Jodeci & looking at your dick covered in other guys' loads when you pull it outta Jenna Haze. Davey Havok approves this band.

This Trent reznor shyt ruined Dillinger, just one persons opinion.. But miss machine was still good.. Even with that last album or twp albums ago they tried redeeming themselves and going back to their roots but it's just not the same

anonymous 6/22/2015 9:56:36 AM

dimitri & Chris Pennie had the right ideas when they exited this band...
