Greeley Estates leaves label, debuts new song

Phoenix, Arizona metalcore band Greeley Estates is currently preparing to release two new EPs. The first EP is titled The Narrow Road and will be available within the next few weeks. Interestingly, the group has parted ways with Tragic Hero Records and will put out the releases on their own in digital format. Here's the official word:
"As you have all seen we love to hole up and get lost in our music while writing and recording. Its obvious by our lack of posts on Facebook and Twitter over the last few months. Here is the other side of the story that we haven't filled you all in on. We have decided to part ways with our Label Tragic Hero Records and release this record independently. (There's absolutely no hard feelings towards them, we love Tommy, Randy and everyone at Tragic and appreciate all they have done for us) That said.. we decided that it was time for us to do this on our own. We know we aren't the first band to do this but it seems to make sense for a lot of bands our size to fully own their own music. We decided not to do a Kickstarter or ask for any money to support this project. You all have stuck with us for this long so we know we can count on you to be there for us now. We have funded this album ourselves, and because this will be a 100% independent release, The Narrow Road/Devil Son will be digital releases only. For most of you we know that this won't be a problem. Its the only way we are able to do this under the circumstances. We have all agreed that when the records reach a certain number in sales we will print physical copies as well. IF THERE WAS EVER A TIME WE WOULD ASK YOU ALL TO ACTUALLY BUY A RECORD, IT WOULD BE NOW. The sales from this record go to the band directly and help us pay off the studio costs, purchase a new vehicle (RIP RV) and also make it possible for us to continue writing/recording/releasing music. Stealing this record will actually be hurting us directly. You all know we appreciate your support and believe you will continue to have our backs. .....If we were doing this for the money we would have quit years ago."
The band has debuted a new song titled "Lot Lizards," which can be heard below:

Wow. There are just so many bands out there that are putting out BETTER SHIT THAN THIS. It pains me to believe what I just heard was legitimate. Oh BTW the way I'm going to need that 20 seconds of my life back ... I'm not going to start a kickstarter for it or anything.

populationcontrol 10/29/2012 7:21:37 AM

Lambgoat please, that was neither hardcore or metal. I know there are some decent metal and hardcore bands out there somewhere for you to update us on.
