Knut goes on 'indefinite hiatus'

Thanks to thePRP for bringing this to our attention, but Geneva, Switzerland band Knut has disbanded for the foreseeable future. The band has offered no details, stating only, "Knut is in indefinite hiatus. Thank you." Formed in 1994, Knut has put out a large handful of releases, including several albums with Hydra Head Records.

It's pronounced Kuh-newt, dumbasses.

bastardmaker 1/31/2012 10:10:37 PM

Bummer. aside from their great back catalog, Wonder was an excellent return album.

Challenger will remain on of the heaviest pieces of music of all times.much respect.

if its really pronounced Kuh-newt then this is without doubt the worst goddamn band name in existance.

anonymous 2/1/2012 11:20:41 AM

i liked it better when i thought it was pronounced nut

hardware 2/1/2012 11:34:22 AM

They did the same a few years ago so hopefully they just need a break again.

the name is knut, a russian word ignorant fcks, hence pronounced cnoot, and they released a records in 2010

keep listening to e-town and news posting, dipshit.

TheLoudestGuyInTheRoom 2/1/2012 6:05:06 PM

ATTENTION MARGINALLY RELEVANT METAL AND HARDCORE BANDS: THAT is how a "band breakup press release" should go. No one wants to read your personal shoutouts to your 14 fans, nor do they give a fck what your future plans are. Take a lesson from (checks above band)...Knut

^ finally someone gets it.

the name is knut, a russian word ignorant fcks, hence pronounced cnoot, and they released a records in 2010 I believe Roderic told me the word means tear in russian. This was 10 years ago, I don't remember exactly. Great band!

anonymous 2/4/2012 5:15:25 AM

The name actually means 'whip' in Russian. Weren't they on an indefinite hiatus between Terraformer & Wonder? Maybe they'll crank up another release before 2020.
