Candiria is now back home in Brooklyn following their two-week tour of the UK with Clutch and Raging Speedhorn. Here's a statement from the Candiria camp regarding the tour:
"Thanks to all the bands on the tour... Landmine Spring, the opening band, were very cool - they helped out by letting Candiria use their drums, and Candiria lent them their sound man. It's always great to tour with Clutch... it says a lot about Clutch fans that they are able to embrace Candiria's music so warmly. Clutch will soon be bringing Raging Speedhorn to the States - that's definately a tour to watch out for. Thanks also to Andy, Adam and Donna at the Century Media UK office who have worked very hard to get Candiria established in Britain, Adam at First Contact Agency who booked Candiria on the tour, Driver John from Norwich and his fiancee Donna, who transported the band over Britain's soggy roads, and Danny Boy, the Irish Swede, who taught us about the real England, and was a constant source of entertainment and practical assistance."
Candiria has plans to return to England soon and will most likely be touring Europe sometime later this year, possibly in August. In the meantime, the band is enjoying some down-time at home while working on material for a "major" new project that will be announced soon. Look for the group to play a few Northeast dates in February and March before heading out on a U.S. tour with another act, yet to be announced.
