Norwegian musician and
Burzum mastermind
Kristian Vikernes, aka
Varg, was back in a Paris courtroom yesterday, facing charges for inciting racial hatred and glorifying war crimes via his Internet writings. As you may
recall, Vikernes has been in a French court in October, however his case was postponed at the time.
According to an AAP
report, yesterday, Vikernes told the court that he did not post any racist blog entries. "I did not write the things that appear in the summons," the musician said.
Among the evidence are ten excerpts from Vikernes' writings, originating March and June 2013, in which Muslims and Jews are allegedly assailed.
Vikernes relayed to the court that according to Norwegian authorities, there were "at any given moment 350 people pretending to be Varg Vikernes on Facebook." He added, "anybody can very easily put up a blog."
If found guilty, Vikernes could face a fine of €45,000 (roughly $61,000) and five years in jail. The verdict will reportedly be returned on July 8.
