Tim Lambesis in courtroom on February 25, 2014 As we had expected, today in a Vista, California courtroom As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis pleaded guilty to attempting to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife. As part of the plea deal, Lambesis could serve up to nine years in prison, plus four years of parole after his release, and be fined $10,000. Technically, this means that Lambesis could skate with as little as probation (though that seems highly unlikely). The duration of prison time was apparently not defined in the deal. The Judge will make the final decision, and both attorneys have been encouraged to file pleading papers. Sentencing will take place on May 2nd with Judge Carlos Armour presiding. The parents and brother of Lambesis' estranged wife, Meggan, were in the courtroom today, and were "obviously relieved" according to prosecutor Claudia Grasso.
