Beyond Creation 'Earthborn Evolution' album stream

Progressive death metal act Beyond Creation stream their forthcoming LP.

Beyond Creation

If you like technical/progressive death metal, we hope you're familiar with Beyond Creation. If not, you just might be missing out on your new favorite band. The Montreal quartet will release their highly-anticipated second album, Earthborn Evolution, on October 28 (in North America) through Season of Mist.

We'd have a hard time selling the band more than their label, who call them "a stunning archetype for the next generation of progressive, technical metal bands" and refer to the new LP as "a testament to the boundless creativity of modern, progressive metal."

Those are fighting words, but we have no reason to doubt their veracity. Even better, Season of Mist has kindly provided Lambgoat with the opportunity to stream the entire album for you below, so you can judge for yourself right now. If you like what you hear, be sure to pre-order Earthborn Evolution and check out Beyond Creation on Facebook.

the 7th and 8th strings are over-used a little bit, its kindof hard to differentiate between notes. but other than that, this is an extremely creative and unique sound that they are making! very impressive. I REALLY like that really rhythmatic-jumpy bass line in theatrical delirium. very impressive guys.

While the band is excellent, there is something about the bass that needs to be addressed. He sounds like Yngwie Malmsteen with Alcatraz. Every space in the music, he plays a slooping bass line with the same melodic counterpoint. Its called overplaying. Its ok to hear the bass in a recording, but this bassist is not doing his job supporting the music.

I get what you are saying about the role of bass, however one thing to consider, is that the 7th and 8th strings of a guitar play the notes traditionalally played on bass guitar. So by playing bass notes on guitar, you do actually free up the bass guitar to play a more melodic role. Fretless bass helps give the instrument a more expressive timbre so it works really well. This is the neq sound of tech-death

How can you snobs complain about the bass guitarist? This band is immensely talented. This album is incredible.

Have been a metal fan for close to 30 years. Don't say this very often, but Beyond Creation are the real deal. Can't think of a band that comes close. Awesome technical skills, _and_ excellent progressive song writing at the same time. And "Forest" Lapointe (bass) is the best ever.
