Sacramento, California hardcore punk veterans Hoods aren't particularly thrilled with former label Victory Records these days. Last night frontman Mike Hood had a few things to say about Tony Brummel, owner of Victory, with whom Hoods released two albums and a split roughly a decade ago:

They put out two records on Victory over 12 years ago. The albums have not sold 10,000 copies combined. The dude sounds like he needs some help. The latest album came out in November on Artery and has not sold 300 copies.

Even if hoods didn't get an advance and paid for those recordings, I doubt they would be owed 10k. I remember during that time period seeing a ton of advertising for them in magazine, samplers, etc like all the other victory bands.

Maybe Mike Hoods approach towards Victorys theft was crude, but if your employer refused to pay you, you would also be upset. I used to know Mike very well.. First of all I can say that he is a very successful business owner and an amazing barber in Sac. He puts his heart and soul into everything he loves.
