Mike Portnoy records 'brutal' drums for metal project
Drummer Mike Portnoy, currently of The Winery Dogs, and once of Dream Theater, has revealed that he is recording drums for an undisclosed metal project.
Specifically, Portnoy had the following to say:
"First Mike Portnoy recording session of 2015 is underway...all the writing/arranging is done, time to begin recording my drum tracks!... [10 hours later]... I just layed down the most brutal drum performance of my career! Picture 'Angel Of Death' meets 'Dyers Eve'... I FINALLY have my metal outlet! \m/"
Portnoy has yet to disclose details, stating only that the aforementioned recording is not for The Winery Dogs and that there will be "more info soon."

I think this is very cool. He needs to cannonball into the whole metal/hardcore scene and take out all the poseur drummers. Playing a blast beat doesn't mean you're good at the drums, f a g g o t s.

This jerk is truly one of the most overrated drummers in the history of popular music. So self important that this shit bag actually refers to himself in the third person. I'm sure these drum tracks are the most "importnoy" of his stupid career. Dudes who work in the drum department at Guitar Center and wear 1,000 buttons and name tags are fckING STOKED!
Nothing this dude does is impressive.
