this chart shows the music dumb and smart people listen to

The past several years, software developer Virgil Griffith has recorded musical tastes along with average SAT scores at various institutions of higher learning. According to Consequence of Sound, Griffith made correlations by looking at the most popular bands on Facebook for students of the respective schools. Using this data, he created a chart designed to show what music dumb people prefer, what music smart people like, and everything in between. I wouldn't put much stock into this of course, but it's fun to check out nonetheless. If nothing else, it confirms what I've always suspected: people who listen to gospel are pretty stupid.

title is incorrect since this would be a reflection of what dumb people listen to, not music that will decrease your IQ. great show of intelligence from a guy charting it all out. also, i dont listen to anything on this list. webgay

So, if I got a 1440 on my SAT, I guess I throw off this chart, since I don't particularly like Beethoven and listen to lots of hardcore & metal.
