New York City mayor Bill de Blasio might enjoy hardcore music
Rolling Stone published a photo yesterday of New York mayor Bill de Blasio and wife Chirlane McCray watching California hardcore punk outfit Trash Talk perform during Brooklyn's Afropunk Fest this past weekend. It's one of those things you don't expect to see. I can't say that de Blasio looks particularly pleased. Confused perhaps? On the other hand, his wife looks enchanted!

His daughter is really into metal, they did a whole article in New York Magazine about it when he got elected.

I photographed the festival. This was not during Trash Talk, but during Bad Brains. His daughter introduced the band.

i was there. first hardcore show in years and wow this scene is terrible now. bill was blasting shots off his daughter's stomach during trash talk, and his wife was grinding on random dudes. this music isn't what it used to be.
