Let's see...a 50 year old dude got into hardcore punk & metal in 1988/at age 15 so he was there for the tail end of the 80s & entire 90s. Say he "grew up" & dropped out of hardcore punk & metal in 2003/at age 30.
His 15 years in it > your 2008-2023. You're watching imitators, reunions & old bands being the musical equivalent of old baseball players being shadows of their prime who won't hang up the spikes.
