"Gold" doesn't mean anything anymore grandpa, people don't buy records. It's like measuring a 2023 movie's success by DVD sales. Huge festivals don't "need" any one particular act, even headliners are interchangeable, but they all sure seem to be booking this band in particular as opposed to any other band, and placing them pretty high on the lineup, which means they have to pay them more. Sure you get some bullshit buy on bands on any festival, but that's at the bottom of the lineup.
