European hardcore band Cataract has just announced some significant news. First, they have added a new vocalist to the group. Fedi, the former singer of Dark Day Dungeon, has joined the band. Here's a quote from Simon of Cataract regarding Fedi: "He is an awesome person and a very good friend of us for years now. As everybody knows from his previous bands, Fedi is not only a very nice person, he is also one of the best singers around these days." The band decided to part ways with former singer Mosh because of the distance between he and the band. Says Simon, "It made it impossible to work as a band as we all wished to. As we are playing shows nearly every weekend for about half a year now, it wasn’t possible to practice on weekends anymore. Mosh and us departed in friendship, which is very important to us, as he did a great job and is a good friend to all of us. We wish him all the best with his other band Elision and also in his personal life. We want to thank him for being an important part of the Team for nearly 3 years." In other news, the band recently recorded three songs for a 7". They will also be recording some more songs for an MCD. Both efforts will be released by The Life Recording Company, a label run by Aaron, guitarist of Bane/Converge. Layout for the MCD will be done by Mike Ski. Look for the 7" to be released this July, followed by the MCD in August. Finally, the band is still finalizing plans for their U.S. tour, which will run from July 5th through July 23rd.
