With Resistance breaking up

After six years together, New Jersey's With Resistance are calling it quits. The group just released a new full-length with Immigrant Sun Records. Here's a statement from the band: "There is no bad blood between any of the members for the break up was a mutual decision. Basically the band just felt that there wasnt much more they wanted or could do as a band, and with the state that hardcore is in today and other obligations in their lives, they felt this was just the best decision no matter how hard it was going to be." The group's last show will take place on November 12th at 120 Hamilton St. in New Brunswick, NJ.

oh fck that. seriously, "the state of hardcore is in today?" what you mean is that you arent a big enough band to make a living.

xtroyx 10/15/2005 10:56:34 AM

hah i liked this band, but the state of hardcore.. that needed some more explaination.

picturesofme 10/15/2005 11:04:30 AM

youisretarded 10/15/2005 10:51:41 AM oh fck that. seriously, "the state of hardcore is in today?" what you mean is that you arent a big enough band to make a living. - ahahahahah EXACTLY what I was thinking.

holycitybradley 10/15/2005 11:31:07 AM

buy their new cd and it talks all about it. They have been talking about breaking up for like 2 years though.. Finally did it. If they were on victory or trustkill then people would have given two shits, but they weren't and you are idiots.

march_of_flames 10/15/2005 12:05:08 PM

xGunmedownx 10/15/2005 12:15:11 PM

"oh fck that. seriously, "the state of hardcore is in today?" what you mean is that you arent a big enough band to make a living" Yeah b/c hardcore is all about making a living. you dumbfck

i saw this band once and was really impressed. i may attend this last one.

hotaction 10/15/2005 2:36:01 PM

the state of hardcore sucks because of kids like you.

saw_in_your_colon 10/15/2005 3:31:04 PM

if you need to have "the state of hardcore today" explained to you, you haven't been around for very long. great band. sorry to hear this news.

wyldweasil 10/15/2005 4:07:46 PM

I saw em once. Guitarist used to or still does work at Victors House of music. I bought a flying V from that dude

PIG_DESTROYER 10/15/2005 4:16:41 PM

i love this band and the new album is really good, but yea, pretty lame reason to break up. if they had gained any notoriety, they'd still be together. they tried and failed. thats it.

hotaction 10/15/2005 4:36:38 PM

dude youre an idiot. its not about trying and failing or making money or whatever bullshit. hardcore isnt a money making buisness. i guess "selling out is waking up"

hotaction 10/15/2005 4:37:09 PM

go to shows and look around you. kids are douschebags. its not even about the music or any kind of "movement" anymore. shit sucks.

kingfriday 10/15/2005 4:38:20 PM

Real Hardcore Kids Have Day Jobs.

dedpinyata 10/15/2005 4:45:27 PM

Where does it say that the state of hardcore was the MAIN reason for the break up? Its obvious that its all gone to shit and kids who dont know that are just part of it $ $ $ $ "yo these guys never made it to mtv2, i guess thats why they broke up"

PIG_DESTROYER 10/15/2005 4:53:40 PM

the fact that kids wear girls jeans and unearth is on mtv is a reason to break up? please. thats rediculous. if they were popular, they wouldnt care.

hangthedj 10/15/2005 5:00:14 PM

my old band played iwth these guys a couple times.they were good.but not good enough to warrant a lifespan.

captnigga 10/15/2005 5:03:41 PM

i liked their new full length alot... too bad

saw_in_your_colon 10/15/2005 5:15:26 PM

"if they were popular they wouldn't care." hardcore was never about being popular. you're missing the point entirely.

hotaction 10/15/2005 9:03:39 PM

^^^exactly that kids a dousche

SeveredInTwo 10/15/2005 9:05:00 PM

1 down, 623441342 more shatty bands to go

motherfckzombies 10/15/2005 10:02:14 PM

The state of hardcore sucks because of gays that talk shit like the ones on this website. Movement turned trend because of gays likes this. Trash every band that tries and like whats popular. Next year all of you will hate old school. fck Off.

Strongarm 10/16/2005 5:26:38 AM

"the state of hardcore is in today" pretty much means there nothing but wannabe meathead tough guy attitudes in hxc today and the ones that aren't "tough" think they are into hardcore but are truley into generic "metalcore"...

Strongarm 10/16/2005 5:30:45 AM

... the fact remains that the original reason hardcore started was for unity, strength, and positivity in life that traditional punk lacked. Now it's about who's tougher or who can implement the best breakdowns. It's truly sad..

xdxmx 10/16/2005 9:59:50 AM

laaammeee, i toured with these guys... awesome dudes

gozer 10/16/2005 2:09:40 PM

yea, this is pretty old news, horrible news at that. this band is pretty amazing, i am sad to see them go.

heyfuker 10/16/2005 4:19:21 PM

this band sux. Hatebreed rulez

SeveredInTwo 10/16/2005 4:37:54 PM

haha.. your all gays for standing up for hardcore

emoxfag 10/16/2005 9:12:08 PM

"the state of hardcore today" meaning that its dead. that kids only care about their mallcore shitbands and not real bands that tour hard and rock hard.

youisretarded 10/16/2005 9:34:39 PM

blah blah blah, you idiots sound just as bad as the people you are condemning.

dedpinyata 10/16/2005 10:12:37 PM

www.myspace.com/ifyoudontknow - 2 new songs from the new cd :)

LEX_LUGER 10/17/2005 2:12:14 PM

Never gave this band a listen but I can agree with the state of hardcore being shitty.

noaone 10/18/2005 3:57:16 PM

codese7en 10/20/2005 1:28:10 AM

Imagine, fast forward 19 years onwards... Let's talk about the state of hardcore now? Are any of these members even alive to appreciate the ... 'state of hardcore' to this day?
