Former Carnivore and Crumbsuckers guitarist arrested for sexual assaulting a child
Marc Piovanetti, the former guitarist for influential New York thrash metal bands Carnivore and Crumbsuckers, was recently arrested and charged in Bergen County, New Jersey for four counts of second-degree sexual assault, second-degree luring, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
He allegedly lured a girl between the ages of thirteen and sixteen from New York City using an online dating app, and then sexually assaulted her at his home in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The child was reported missing, and after authorities pinged a phone used to call the girl's mother, quickly located her at the Piovanetti residence.
His wife, Jennifer Piovanetti, was allegedly home at the time and was aware of the child's presence. There was another minor under the age of thirteen at the residence too. Jennifer is being charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
In 2017, Marc was previously placed on the sex offender registry and sentenced to ten years probation for the rape of a child under fifteen years old, among other crimes.
The Piovanettis are currently being held in jail as they await trial before the Bergen County Superior Court.
