The Black Dahlia Murder guitarist Brandon Ellis quits band
Brandon Ellis has confirmed his exit from The Black Dahlia Murder. The guitarist says "the time has come that [he] must close this chapter and begin the next."
Here's his full statement:
I have recently parted ways with The Black Dahlia Murder.
I'm grateful for my 9 years spent with this iconic band, and to have had the rare honor of making music with the legendary Trevor Strnad. I'm proud of my contributions to the band's legacy and of all that we've accomplished together.
Unfortunately, the time has come that I must close this chapter and begin the next.
I'd like to thank the fans for the mountains of support they've afforded us all over the years, and I wish the band the best in all future endeavors.

The news of Ellis' departure follows the postponement of the band's Latin American tour.

Brian f*cked them by quitting the tour and now they have no income. You can't be a professional and do that. Brandon has other options. And AILD is hiring and makes 10x what TBDM pulls in.

If Brandon (or someone like Brandon) joins AILD then they have a chance at being musically relevant for the next 5-7 years. Otherwise they are just a meme band.

This is relatively good news. I never liked Brandon in the band. They seemed to showcase hin too much like he was some second coming of Randy Rhodes. I hope and pray John K comes back to make this band whole again. Things were never the same when he left. All these yankers that criticize him as the worst soloist the band had are numskulls. It's not about tricks and showing off in a band like this it's playing to the songs and being memorable which his solos were. f*ck Brandon and his gay ass vests, groupie wife, and shit mixing skills. I hope Brian isn't trying to meet Trev anytime soon but sure seems like some survivor guilt going on.
