Whitechapel look to be releasing a new single in the near future

whitechapel 24

It seems like long running Tennessee deathcore outfit Whitechapel is gearing up to release the second new single from the band's upcoming album, which has yet to be announced. The group spent time in the studio with producer Zach Householder in June of 2023 to work on LP9, however, the band has not formerly set a date or released the album's title.

Whitechapel did release the first single, "A Visceral Retch", from the forthcoming album earlier this year and the band did add another new single, "Hymns in Dissonance", to the setlist.

Recently, Cleveland concert videographer Leo Sypniewski made a post via his YouTube channel alerting fans that Whitechapel show he shot in October is on hold for the time being.

Sypniewski mentioned that Whitechapel asked him to not release the footage, which included a new single in the set, but instead it be held until the single is properly released. Having the show taken place in October and the timing of Sypniewski's post have led fans to suspect the new single is imminent.

However, "Hymns in Dissonance" is still not officially released yet so it very may well be the official release of that track.

Sypniewski shared the following via YouTube:

I'm sure some of you are wondering, "is Whitechapel the next upload??" - the answer is... probably not quite yet? They played an unreleased song during this set, and they asked politely that I do not upload their set until that single is released, which I believe is happening very soon. I have a few videos to hold you guys over in-between, since I kind of planned on a gap between KKTX/Bogg and Whitechapel. I really do appreciate all the love on these last two videos, and I hope the new camera is proving to be as useful as I had hoped. Not every upload will have that camera on it (I can't always operate it if i'm also mixing) but i'll do my best!

Good band. Kin leans a bit too far into alt/prog metal/rock for my liking but overall a strong discography.
