Sheer Terror vocalist Paul Bearer begs promoters to not share line ups with 'beat down' bands
Sheer Terror frontman Paul Bearer recently aired some grievances on Instagram, addressing issues with show promoters ahead of the band's upcoming dates next month. In a pair of reels, Bearer called out common mistakes he finds "annoying," particularly regarding promotional materials and lineup curation.
In the first clip, Bearer urged promoters and flyer designers to avoid using outdated band photos, especially ones featuring former members. He emphasized that these errors misrepresent the current lineup, adding, "It's annoying."
The second clip, which has gained more traction, features Bearer "begging" promoters to stop pairing Sheer Terror with "beatdown" hardcore bands. He stated, "We're not a beatdown band, and beatdown fans don't enjoy Sheer Terror."
The band is set to hit the stage next month, and fans will be watching to see how promoters handle these requests moving forward.

Hey Paul, here's a novel f*cking idea: tell your agent booking the shows to inform the promoters of this and be sure they actually have the current photos? Maybe do some legwork and bring your own openers or tell promoters which local bands you want?

Then when Alan Blake (the guy who wrote their first album their only good one) quit the band because of Paul's ego & greed Paul had bassist Mark switch to guitar, got a new rhythm section then wrote some real lame punk shit that played to Just Can't Hate Enough. They all dressed in ska outfits porkpie hats and all. Paul always comes off like he's doing everyone a favor by doing Sheer Terror when he's not - f u c k him.

They are a hardcore band and are tired of playing with metal core/beat down bands. I don't blame him. I wish they had some of the OG members still with them though. No getting around that. Paul should be more involved and tell the booking agent which bands he likes from the towns they play so they don't have to play with trash bands. His fault.
