Boys Night Out's Connor Lovat-Fraser explains why he brought the band back, to honor murdered lover

Boys Night Out frontman Connor Lovat-Fraser took to the band's social media this morning, Wednesday September 25th, to share the reason he decided to bring back the post-hardcore act.
Lovat-Fraser cites that his former girlfriend, Julia MacIsaac (42), who was brutally killed by 43-yr old David Slinger, a friend of band. On March, 14th Slinger inflicted obvious signs of trauma to MacIsaac and would then call the police to inform them he 'caused harm to the victim'. When authorities arrived shortly after 4 a.m. they would find the victim deceased and arrest Slinger, who was still on scene. Later, Slinger would be charged with first-degree murder.
Lovat-Fraser claims MacIsaac was a big driving force to bring Boys Night Out back regardless of the line up. Boys Night Out was added to the Furnace Fest line up June 26th of this year.
Lovat-Fraser shared the following:
Many of you have asked about what drove me to bring BNO back at this time. The answer is a name; Julia Mary MacIsaac. On 14 March, 2024, Julia was murdered in her home while I was traveling for work. Her attacker was a friend of ours.
Julia was my girlfriend. She was my partner. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend. She was brilliant, beautiful, ridiculously funny, sarcastic, stubborn, silly, kind and powerful. She was a lot of things.
I loved Julia so much, and I miss her everyday.
Julia was an incredible woman.
As we were building a life together and planning for the future, Julia strongly encouraged me to find a way to get Boys Night Out back on stage…even without the original members. When we were offered the opportunity to perform at Furnace Fest last year (2023), she wanted so badly for me to find a way to make it happen. She knew how much I enjoyed creating and performing with this band. She saw how excited I was to announce vinyl pressings and to interact with fans and old friends. She could see how important this was (and IS) to me. Julia loved the music and loved me.
It has been just over 6 months since Julia Mary MacIsaac was senselessly taken from this world. I have had to consider the violent content of my lyrics in comparison to the dark, tragic, and overwhelming reality in which I find myself. There have been birthdays, anniversaries and important milestones. In that time I have been unable to work and unmotivated to do most things. For the first time in just over 6 months I find myself able to actively desire to participate in the present and envision the future.
Grief and loss find us all at one time or another. They connect and bind us to each other. They can also serve as powerful motivators.
Julia gave me so much while she was alive. I wish to honor her beautiful life and memory the best way I know how…through music.
I have decided to bring back this band for all of you who supported us through the years. I am doing this for myself, to rediscover my love of life. I am doing this for my daughter, my family and my friends. I am doing this for Julia.
So, let's do this.
Thank you

Grief makes you say and do dumb shit, so. I get it..
David Slimger here. Gotta make this quick before the hacks find this burner. This story is false. I was wrongly convicted. Well, gotta go now.
Uh, I mean, the entire concept behind the first record was murdering women, sooooo….
Pathetic how the worthless f*ck who runs this site now has to resort to news like this to attract all the mongrels and their terrible comments since that's the only way this site will get views now
Ask Jeff Rob Dave or Ben why they declined to do this with Connor way before the murder...they all have BNO tattoos and love the band.
Wonder why the friend murdered her. Maybe she was cheating Conor don't mourn for a cheater
Why post this but not post anything about Bam Margera? You know, member of a venerated punk band? You broke the seal on it so post Bam news NOW
"Ask Jeff Rob Dave or Ben why they declined to do this with Connor way before the murder...they all have BNO tattoos and love the band." can you tell me
Just call her the guys partner/wife/GF. What is this "lover" stuff? This aint Forensic Files. God this website is dog ass.
^ Go Back to your shift at Walmart you neckbeard loser. Gotta pay those Trailer bills.
"Never thought I'd say this but maybe comments off for this one?" Be aware that IP addresses have been recorded and will dealt with in time.
anonymous 4 hours ago Never thought I'd say this but maybe comments off for this one? I think Lurk charges an extra $15 to turn them off, for the bands too thin skinned to deal with the GOO/Buffalo janitor/Turnstile accountant posts.
At least Tim Lambesis had the courage to admit he hired a hitman. Unlike this pussy who uses a convenient "I was traveling for work" excuse. Sure you were, bro, sure you were. And OJ was innocent, too.
Never heard of this band but awesome to use a dead person as a cover story for your desperate need for applause
"murdered lover" = band name doesnt seem to be taken you're welcome
Uh, I mean, the entire concept behind the first record was murdering women, sooooo…. So much of the shit that I used to love in the early 2000s is so cringe worthy to listen to now because a lot of it was scrawny whiny bitches singing about murdering girls because they couldn't get their tiny dicks wet. Mega impotent rage vibes from that kind of music looking vack on it.
Why was a woman alone with a man who wasn't her husband, father or brother? God bless and rest her soul. The men in her life let her down.
My whole polycule is intrigued by this story and wants to know more
Stop using AI for your posts or send whoever wrote this back to middle school.
I'm a raging misogynist and I think lambgoat should shut off the comments.
Her last words were: "I love you, honor my memory by continuing the band. Even if it means a complete scab lineup."
