Jane's Addiction Dave Navarro doesn't think their new song will ever be played live

The future of Jane's Addiction looks uncertain after guitarist Dave Navarro shared doubts about the band's return following their recent hiatus. Just months into a long-awaited reunion tour with their classic lineup, things took a turn for the worse during a Boston show last weekend. Vocalist Perry Farrell got into a physical altercation with Navarro onstage, leading the band to cancel the rest of their tour.
In a statement issued on September 16th, the band revealed they were taking "some time away as a group," with Farrell's wife attributing his behavior to a mix of issues including tinnitus, vocal strain, and frustration with the onstage sound mix. Farrell's performance in the days leading up to the incident had also been erratic.
Navarro, alongside bassist Eric Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins, expressed concern over Farrell's "mental health difficulties" in a separate statement. Although Farrell later issued an apology, the damage had already been done.
Despite the turmoil, Jane's Addiction dropped their new single, "True Love", on September 18th, their second release from this lineup in 34 years. However, Navarro's outlook suggests that the band may not continue, leaving the new track as a bittersweet release amid the uncertainty.
In a recent post on his Instagram Narvarro shared the following:
New Jane's Addiction track released today, 'True Love'. I am proud of the work we did on this song but I am equally saddened by the fact that you will likely never hear it live. I'd also like to publicly apologize to our crew, @crawlersband and their crew and to @loveandrocketsofficial and their crew. Thanks for being our travel companions for as long as you did. I am gutted that things ended this way and that so many jobs were lost as a result. May all of our hearts mend together.
