Jane's Addiction cancel current tour following onstage altercation, issue hiatus statement

Following the onstage altercation between Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro during Jane's Addiction's Boston show on September 13, the band has officially canceled the remainder of their 2024 tour and announced an indefinite hiatus.
The confrontation escalated to a physical level, resulting in Farrell being escorted off the stage, and their scheduled performance in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on September 15 was immediately canceled.
In a statement shared on social media on September 16, Jane's Addiction confirmed the cancellation of the rest of the tour and disclosed their plans to take a break as a band.
The band shared the following:
To all the fans,
The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group.
As such, they will be cancelling the remainer of the tour.
Refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at y our point of purchase - or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like Stub-Hub, Seat Geek, etc, please reach out to them direct.
Thank you,
Jane's Addiction
In a second statement posted on Dave Navarro's personal Instagram, the guitarist, along with bassist Eric Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins, addressed the situation surrounding Jane's Addiction's sudden hiatus.
Signed by the three members, the statement reflects their perspective on the events and reiterates the band's decision to cancel the remaining tour dates. While the post does not go into specific details regarding the altercation, it emphasizes the band's collective decision to step back for the time being, with no clear timeline for when or if they will return to the stage together.
The second statement reads:
Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current U.S. tour.
Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs
We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken.

Post CommentImagine being 65 and looking/acting like Perry Farrell. Get a life you dweeb.
You can't even be professional enough to share a stage for 90 minutes a night? Plenty of bands hate each other. Do your job.
^ Most people in the entertainment industry are stuck at the emotional level of a toddler. High school if you're lucky.
The statement should just read "We're cancelling the tour because our singer gobbles cock and can no longer perform at a high level."
Dude has his own bus, his wife on tour with him, assistants and still can't make it work?
on a personal note, I love seeing people who have abused drugs spiral out of control. on a side note: I cannot wait for junkies that I actually do know to over dose and die.
Perhaps Peretz Bernstein can spend more time "standing with Israel."
"I cannot wait for junkies that I actually do know to over dose and die" Overdose is one word. Just like moron.
Bacon Bits here, this band has more drama than Escuela Grind
He looks gayer than Ricky Martin and Elton John combined.
This band has always been the gehyest shit ever. Imagine spending money to see these assclowns live.
^^^Lurk has a police investigation with you. Keep it up, more shit to charge you with.
Police investigate chat room nerds making fun of other chat room nerds?
Janes Addiction has always sucked. Who's the last person you talked to who claimed to be a Janes Addiction fan?? Both Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro's egos are way too big for people that have written MAYBE 2 radio hits.
If Stephen Perkins was smart he'd offer to rejoin Infectious Grooves. He was great on their debut record. Mike Muir should put out a new IG album with the debut album lineup of Perkins, Pleasants, Rob Trujillo & Adam Siegel.
"Janes Addiction has always sucked. Who's the last person you talked to who claimed to be a Janes Addiction fan?? Both Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro's egos are way too big for people that have written MAYBE 2 radio hits." Janes Addiction was equally as influential as Nirvana and perhaps even more so but they werent as big because Cobain was much more marketable to the masses than Farrell was.
He's actually right^^ no Jane's addiction no lollapalooza. Now imagine the 1990s without lollapalooza and tell me Jane's Addiction wasn't massively influential
^ Imagine calling the cops because some guys on the Internet make fun of you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Lifelong addict does addict stuff" Imagine being a Jane's Addiction fan
