Marilyn Manson asks court to reconsider dismissed claims against Evan Rachel Wood and Illma Gore
Marilyn Manson, legally known as Brian Warner, has recently filed an appeal in his defamation and emotional distress lawsuit against Evan Rachel Wood and her associate, Illma Gore. This appeal comes more than two years after the legal action was initially taken in March 2022.
Wood publicly identified Warner as her abuser in February 2021, following previous discussions about an ex-partner who allegedly tormented her mentally, physically, and sexually. Subsequently, over a dozen other women made similar claims of abuse against Warner, which he has denied in court.

After the court threw out a substantial portion of Warner's claims against Wood and Gore last May, ordering him to pay their attorney fees, he is now appealing that decision. Warner and his legal team claim to possess evidence that Wood and Gore coerced others into making false allegations against him, falsified information, and engaged in other malicious activities.
One of the focal points of the appeal is a letter purportedly from an FBI agent, which Warner alleges is forged and was used to mislead individuals into believing that he was under investigation by the FBI.
Although Wood's attorney has reiterated that she did not fabricate or forge the FBI letter, Warner's legal team is continuing to push for a reconsideration of the court's decision to dismiss parts of his claims against Wood and Gore.
The ongoing case is set to go to trial, particularly focusing on Warner's allegations that Wood and Gore hacked his electronic devices, impersonated him online, and made a fake hoax call to law enforcement.
In a statement provided to Rolling Stone, Wood's attorney Michael Kump said:
Warner's appeal simply rehashes the same meritless claims which the trial court threw out. As Ms. Wood testified under oath, she did not fabricate or forge the FBI letter.
